Ticket question...from newbie

Hi All!!

I have a question regarding a park hopper we have for our upcoming trip. We will be arriving approximately 3:00 P.M. and by the time we get settled I would imagine it will be 4:30 or so.
My question is, if we decide to go to Magic Kingdom that evening we arrive, will we be using one of our FULL days on our 4 day pass or do the passes expire by hours used? Thanks so much for your help!!

Other ideas if you don't want to use up a day....

Ride the monorail! Get off and walk through some of the resorts.

Visit Downtown Disney

ADR a character meal to get the magic started.

We are planning on doing lots of nothing our day of arrival. Swimming is a treat for our kiddos so we are hanging by the POP pool(s), eating dinner at the food court and hopefully getting to bed early so we can wake up at dawn thirty to start our park day!

You're welcome. That's what we're thinking. We might hit the oulet stores, DD, and the pool... we have an early breakfast scheduled the next day, so it will be a get to bed early night.
