Ticket Purchase Question

We're positive that we're going to both DL and DCA on both Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19. Our plane lands in the afternoon on Thursday, January 17. I'm thinking that we'll visit DTD that night and not do a park. We have not purchased tickets yet. We will definitely be getting MaxPass when we buy our tickets as well. However, if we do decide to visit a park that Thursday evening, is it easy to upgrade our ticket to a 3-day pass on site?

Second question, do you recommend we buy our tickets now before any potential price increases, or would we just have to pay the difference at the gate anyway?

I would say look into LMT for the discounted 3-day hoppers.

If purchased directly from Disney, you would lose any discount you received if you upgraded.
