Ticket Purchase on AP Block-Out Day

Has anybody purchased an upgrade ticket on a day when their AP is blocked out? I am planning a December trip and several of the days are blocked out for my AP. It used to be $40/day to get a ticket on a block out day, but that was several years ago, so I am looking for the current price. Thanks!

I believe that benefit was discontinued in the last couple years. You would need to buy a separate full price ticket.

They have eliminated the blockout ticket option, so now you will have to purchase a regular one-day ticket if you want to enter the park(s) on a day when your AP is blocked out (or upgrade your AP to one that is not blocked on that day).

Really???? Oh that is so unfortunate. Thank you for letting me know. I'm glad i didn't just make an assumption that it was still $40. This will change my trip dates dramatically.

I understood why they did it. The last price increase before they were discontinued the 1 day ticket went from $87 to $92 and the blockout went from $70 to $84. At the rate of increase they would have been the same anyway. I know there are people who just want to go when their birthday falls on a Saturday, but most people wanted to pay a much lower price and use blockout passes on days when the park would reach capacity like NYE, July 4th and the 24 hour days or the 60th. If Disney makes those blockout days then it's better for them to count those visitors as single day ticket holders and not APs on those days.
