I you can help us! We are going to Disneyland for the first time ever (YAAAAAY!!!!) in May, 2008.

We've just been informed that Disney no longer offers a military discount (one of our party is active, and his two girls (5 and 7) are going to be with us).

We are doing two days in the parks. We've searched for information on the best ticket prices, but everything we've found ends sometime in April.

Is it true? Did Disney discontinue the Military discount?

Any suggestions for tickets for three adults and two children under nine for two days of park visiting? (Not hopping).

I'm pretty dazed and confused right now. :confused3

We use the website - getawaytoday.com others recommend costco. Hopefully one of these will help.

I don't know about military tickets. Have you called Disneyland directly and asked?

For 2 day tickets, I don't think they offer non-hoppers. A 2 day hopper is $132 adult. The price of a 1 day non hopper is $66, so if you really don't want to hop, then just buy two 1 day non hoppers for everyone.

Try the San Diego MWR... I just checked the website and Disneyland tickets are offered. 2 day park hoppers for adults $98.50, for kids $88.50

It's the 2fer ticket offer that expires in April

The tickets over 1 day are all park hoppers, as someone else stated. I think you will want to park hop once you get there. You still don't have to, and it's really no loss, as it will cost you the same or more to buy multiple 1 day passes.:)

Are you a WDW vet? Because park hopping is WAY different at DLR. It might take an hour+ to park hop at WDW. At DLR, 1 minute! All you have to do is walk across a large plaza, and you're at the other park's entrance. Same with Downtown Disney and the hotels. All within a couple minutes walk from each other.

So, considering every ticket 2 days or more (other than special tickets) is a hopper, I would highly recommend going to DL in the morning and hopping to DCA for the afternoon when the DL crowds start growing. DCA is never as crowded, even in the afternoon.

You definitely can get discounted tickets for military, your friend will need to go to his local MWR or ITT (Information, Travel, and Ticket) office, if he lives on the West Coast they will definitely carry the tickets, and if he lives anywhere else they may have to order the tickets for him, but they will be cheaper than paying full price.

As for the hopping, I agree with all the OP's.

Thanks so much for the clarification on the park hopping. Yes, I'm a WDW regular and just thought that we could do one park one day and the other the next day. If the price is the same, no matter.

He did go to his military office and they told him that Disney no longer offers the discount.

I called Disneyland Hotel and they said he could get the twofer passes with ID. The passes are good through May 22 (I read that somewhere) and that will just make us in under the wire.

From what I understand though, we (out of staters) can't use the twofer. No matter, I was just looking for any available price break for us.

I'll check the websites recommended.

You are all seriously wonderful people, you know that? Thanks so much for helping. I'm totally lost when it comes to DL! :upsidedow

Sometimes Costco can offer tickets. The are offering one right now. 1 4-day pass. 1 park each time for about $132. The expire most likely before the Christmas Holiday season starts

Try AAA for DL tickets they had some bonus stuff that convinced me the price was riight!!

I just found this site tonight, and I was wondering if anyone else has used them? Are they good?

Char

Many people here on the Disboards have used getawaytoday, including me, and have been very happy with them. They have excellent customer service.

What base is your friend at? Are you flying or driving in? I can probably help you find something. The military discount is usually much better than any other discount out there, at least on tickets, unless you can get free or Cast Member tickets.

He is stationed at the "Pacific Home of the US Naval Seabees." Gosh, I hope I don't get him in trouble for posting that? :scared: Port Hueneme, California.

We (my DP and I) are flying in. We attend a graduation on Friday, and then meet up with him and his little girls on Sunday and head (driving) to Disneyland.

I did call the Disneyland Hotel and they said he could buy the twofer there, but I am worried about waiting until the last minute. I would really hate for him to be unable to get a good discount on his tickets. :guilty:

I tend to be overprotective of him. He's done two tours of Iraq, came home the second time to a wife who had left him, bankrupted him and taken his girls. Jaysus, I'd better stop giving his personal life airtime. :guilty:

Anyway, I just want this "kid" (32 now) to have a great time.

Thank you all for listening and I'm really sorry about going on so.
