Ticket Prices Increased Today

Thanks

so from what I can see if I buy a 5 day non hopper non expiring ticket from UT for $438.95, this is under the gate price of 494.16 and so can upgrade by paying the difference.

This to me seems the best ticket?

I can't tell you if it is the best without looking at them all myself, but it seems like a good deal.

Well I have given myself a headache now comparing pre tax post tax and the wayyyyy too many different tickets Disney do!

I feel so sorry for the Average guy that turns up at disney for a ticket without any planning.

I think I will buy the ticket, I have a sneeky feeling that this is not the last ticket increase this year, on the back of the new harry potter I got a nasty feeling the tickets will go up again Grrrr

UT shows you a dollar mount of how much you save on the gate price. So just select a ticket with the greatest savings that is still under the gate price of what you want to upgrade to.

Can anyone help me - am getting a little confused

Whats the best park hopper to Buy from UT (who have yet to raise their prices) if I was going to buy a Normal non premium DVC Annual pass- not the special offer one.

Am getting confused as I know you need to buy one that costs less, but is that after they bridge the price to the gate price.

E.G the 5 day no exp park hopper - no experation with UT is $490.95 but the price on all ears net is $558.06 - more than the DVC AP does this mean I cant bridge the ticket and need to choose a lower price one? Am really confused!!!
You may want to check out the 2nd post in this thread. Currently, the special offer is the best price in all of Disney. Here's the link:

I just can't believe prices went up AGAIN. To me, the tickets are the LEAST affordable part of a trip to WDW. Unbelievable....

Agreed. My wife and I just got back a few weeks ago and were blown away by the increase in the cost of beverages. That might sound stupid and as I see myself writing it, I can't believe I'm complaining about the cost of beverages, but a bottle of bear on the Boardwalk is now $6.50 and the regular size drinks in the parks went to $2.99 from around $2.29 when we were there last summer. My wife and I have been members since 1996 and have now just said for the first time that we may very well have to skip a year or more (starting next year as our annual passes expire this August) and if we go, we will most likely be skipping the parks. Given the trajectory of price increases, we don't see ourselves ever vacationing in Disney again like we have been doing regularly since 1996.

If you buy the ticket using Ebates and buy the tickets from Orbits you get a 20% discount. I bought 2 of the 10 day non exp hoppers and will get a rebate check for $308.00 from Ebates. :yay:

It appears that Orbitz will send a voucher for the tickets. Do you know if you can apply that voucher to MyDisneyExperience?

Obviously if you intend to upgrade the tickets you'd have to exchange the voucher for a real ticket (do they exchange for a physical ticket still or do they automatically put it on My Disney Experience for use with a Magic Band?) then use a day of it to get it to bridge up to the gate price before exchanging.

Just thinking out loud here.. that Ebates savings is significant!

Last year I bought tickets from UT and got the 5 day park hopper....then used it once and upgraded to the DVC AP. It gave us the most savings.

Yep.. No need to email Orbitz..
When you buy them sign into Orbiz acct click my trip scroll all the way down you will see a 'will call confirmation number" it begins with 4 letters this is the number you can use to when you are in your MDE acct to enter in the confirmation box.

We have Busch Gardens platinum passes. With the insane WDW tix $$$, we've stayed in our DVC villa, and drove down the road to Sea World/Aquatica instead.

Prices are getting out of hand. Thankfully we can get military discounted tickets too each year...but even those keep going up up up. :scared1:

Thanks so much for this information. We'll keep it in our list of Disney discounts for future trips since we bought UT tickets when the Mousesavers email came out. I calculate we would have saved several hundred dollars doing it the Ebates way.

I tried this and the will call number is not recognized as a valid number. Tried to get the "magic" number from Orbitz Wed but she said I needed to call back 5 days after the purchase. Just tried calling them again for the magic number and I was on hold 15 minutes so just hung up to search further here. I'm starting to think I have bad mojo.
