Ticket price increase?

I read on another DisBoard forum that Disney "traditionally" increases prices for park tickets in February. Looking at the "sticky" at the top of this board, they clearly raised the prices last February. I tried to click on the link to see archived ticket prices, but could not find dates (I am probably blind).

So, does Disney usually increase park ticket prices in February?

We have a trip planned for July (booked our resort already) and I am trying to figure out when purchasing tickets makes sense. I will in January, if I have to. But, if I can wait, I will.

Might be at any time.
It has only been in Feb. "recently."

It's been in February for the last couple of years. Before that, it was in june. I don't remember when it was before that.

It could happen at any time. They'll give a few days notice.

Ok. So like the increase in DVC prices, they will announce a few days in advance and I can jump on and buy some... I can work with that. Thank you!

Ok. So like the increase in DVC prices, they will announce a few days in advance and I can jump on and buy some... I can work with that. Thank you!

IIRC Disney has not announced the last couple of price increases in advance, but unofficial information that increases were coming “soon” was leaked by well-regarded sources and appeared here on the DIS and elsewhere. So people were able to buy beforehand. Also, UT and other 3rd-party ticket sellers had tickets on hand that they could sell at the old prices until their stock was exhausted.

So, keep up with the DIS!

What generally happens is that ticket CMs are informed of the increase on a Friday.
That announcement says that the new ticket prices will go into effect on Sunday (2 days later.)
That info gets out to the web very quickly, so that guests have the remainder of that Friday and Saturday to
quickly buy tickets at the "old" price.

My advice is always buy the tickets when you can because prices WILL increase but no one knows when.

You get about a day and a half notice. Third party ticket sellers usually have “old stock” available at the lower prices for a few weeks. Don’t count on an announcement. Watch the forums for someone in the know to post about it.

Those third party ticket sellers do you no good if you're a Florida resident. If you can afford the ticket now just do it

Thanks to Robo, I figured out how much it will cost to upgrade my tickets. Forgot about possible price increases. How much money are we talking about here? If a one-day pass goes up X amount, how do you figure the price of a longer pass? Hope they wait until after March!

There's no way to judge what might happen until it is announced.
The upgrading situation changed appreciably last year, and we don't know what may happen this year.

I wouldn't sweat it.
Nothing can be done about it, anyway.
