Ticket price increase?

Undercover tourist has a red banner at the top of their website that reads "Price increase on tickets". As of today has Disney increased their ticket prices?

I know the banner has been there because of Universal hiking prices about two weeks ago. I kind of expected Disney to follow suit today.

That banner is for Universal. Last year, the announcement was made via the Disney Parks Blog a bit after 4pm. There has been no announcement, so it is unlikely to happen this Sunday.

We arrive Wednesday and we are waiting to buy our tickets at WDW because we all have a 1 day unused ticket from previous free dining. I hope the prices do not go up before June 5!

If you have an unused ticket, just use your ticket to enter the park and then upgrade it to the number of days you need. Once you use it, it will bridge to whatever the current rate is at the time.

Walt Disney World and Disneyland (California) ticket prices will increase at the ticket booths and on the official Disney websites on Sunday, June 2.

The price increase is expected to include all ticket types, from one-day tickets up through Annual Passes. As soon as I have all the new prices compiled, I will update them on MouseSavers.com.

The DisneyParks Blog has announced an increase to prices at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, effective June 2, 2013.

An adult 1-Day ticket to the Magic Kingdom will be $95 (plus tax), while a 1-Day ticket to any of the other three Florida theme parks will be $90 (plus tax).

An adult 1-Day ticket to Disneyland will be $92.

The biggest increase comes in the Premier Passport, which is valid for all Florida and California parks. The Premier Passport will be $979 (plus applicable tax), up from $849.

If you look at the link from the Disney Parks Blog it looks like the No Expiration option is back. At least the prices are listed there.

Parking has increased to $15 dollars a day.

It does not seem to be significant enough to buy my tickets tonight. My plan has been to buy one ticket per month - I still have three to buy. I was doing it with the Orbitz deal, so I think it will still be ok and not cost me a ton extra by budgeting the way I anticipated.

The real sticker shock is when you add the tax to those new 1-day ticket prices. That $95 ticket jumps to $101.18! More than $100 to go into the MK for a single day!!! I think they may have reached a tipping point for a lot of people.

The four day is going up over twenty dollars, and that's before tax!

I'm guessing the resort and food prices will be up for next year as well. We were planning our first ever trip for April, and it was already breaking the budget. I fear now that it may be impossible

You can say that again! We have a trip planned in 3 weeks - after that, it's pretty much priced out of the market for me. It's not just the tickets - but everything Disney is just too darn high... I'm glad we've been able to take the grandkids a few times - now it's on to somewhere else, I guess. Sorry WDW - we'll miss you!

I'm confused on how they can charge more for Magic Kingdom? What happens when you are buying a 10 day PH with waterpark fun? We will be entering MK with our unused 1 day ticket and upgrading to the 10 day PH/WP. Will we be charged more because we went into MK instead of Epcot?

They appear to be trying to dampen demand for one day visits to the MK. You already have a ticket so you would not be affected. In fact, maybe it would work out better when upgrading a ticket if the MK gate price is more and you are upgrading the ticket there. But I think any of that remains to be seen

I don't the number of people who just reached their tipping point will be noticeable though. There is a significant inelastic demand with Disney parks. I expect Disney to have ~10% or less price increases per year in perpetuity. The parks will continue to be crowded every year.

I don't think the price increase will affect crowds at all, but I wish it would.
