Ticket price bridging

Does Universal bridge ticket prices the same as Disney? For example, if I were to purchase, from undercover tourist, the 2 day base ticket with 2 days free for only $166, can I use it at the gate and then get the full value of a 4 day ticket towards any type of upgrade?

So if you had the 4 day pass ( single park) They would give you $209.99 credit so it would only be $30 to upgrade to the season pass with blackout dates? And then you could go to both parks the same day and ride the hog warts train?

Many upgrade the tickets as it is cheaper than buying the power pass in the first place

Black out dates would be the only downer with having the power pass

All the advice I have on here is you can and to use ticket at gate then upgrade at guest service INSIDE the park.

We were able to upgrade a UK 14 day ticket this way too.

What kind of price did they give you on a 14 day ticket? I have a 7-day one from Airmiles wondering if I can upgrade to a Powerpass for free or little cost.

if you go through the gate with the older ticket, and then to guest services to upgrade, your ticket price will reflect the day's ticket rate, not the rate back in 2003 or whenever you first bought it.

i had issues with using one of my older passes as the coding wasn't in the system anymore a couple of years back.
i had an active ap but son was using the older pass for the trip.
was escorted to guest services to handle the upgrade
easy peasy, all went fine.

April 2008 is what it says on the back. I'm glad there are reports of being able to upgrade-I'm just a bit of a worrier that I will go into the park and ask to upgrade and they say no, it can't be done. Then I will have started my 7 days on a day I didn't want to spend a full or almost full day at US/IOA.

Since the 7 day hoppers are no longer a valid ticket, guest services will rectify that situation for you.

but, do go to the gate, to attempt using them.
if they won't scan, TM's could let you in and tell you to handle the upgrade sometime while you are in the park that day.
or it is possible that the TM's will direct or escort you to guest services inside the park.
i was escorted but let in to the park past the gate.

i can't say it any plainer that it is best to not do the exchange at guest services outside the park.
without using them before exchanging them for an upgrade, they will reflect an amount that you paid in 2008.
if the system has changed since i did the exchanges, i don't know as i have not read any posts for those upgrading outside the parks.

don't worry about this as passes never expire.
mine had expires 2030 on the back of them which UO told me, it means no expiration date.

They gave us in dollars pretty much what we had paid for the Uk 14 day tickets ($200ish each).

It was $250 ish inc tax to upgrade to 2 power and 1 preferred AP.

We had to do the upgrade inside the park.

Okay, I will attempt to use them on arrival day. Does anyone have a guess as to how much it would be to upgrade to an AP (Powerpass) from a 7-day park to park ticket?

I would imagine it will cost nothing.

Great! More days available for US/IOA and more pool time at Cabana Bay since I won't feel bad about heading back to the hotel for a bit.

On the Universal website it has a payment plan for the preferred passes. Does this payment plan apply when upgrading inside the park as well?

Upgrading and payment plans don't go together. If you have a power pass that is not on a payment plan, you can upgrade to another pass, not on the payment plan.

If you have a power pass, on the payment plan, you need to buy out your power pass and then you can upgrade to another pass.

I called Universal about my 7 day ticket months ago (probably getting close to a year ago) and they weren't able to tell me if the ticket could be upgraded to an AP.

So glad there are people on here that know that it can be.

those older 7 day passes are no longer in the system.
i had to go to guest services and have a supervisor handle my conversation.
believe the tm at the desk said it needed the supervisor override.

probably what happened when you called is the ones that answer the phone, aren't allowed to do the over rides
if they have no experience with it, they couldn't answer your question.

those 7 day and 5 day passes came out at different times and were a good deal.
some were $79-$89-$99.
my oldest pass is from 2005.

i renew my preferred ap each year since 2003 but bought passes for when i take my kids with me.
i converted all my passes last october so it was a one and down time period i had to do them all.

now i just have to remember where i keep them at home........

I got mine from Airmiles using points. They were onsale (less points) when I redeemed. Wish I had had enough for a second ticket, even a child's one.
