Somewhere I read that you need to get a ticket for Legend of Jack Sparrow. I can't find where I read it now. Nothing else I read about the attraction says anything about a ticket.

Is it just a walkthrough that you can do whenever you want that it is open?

Thanks

When we went in June we were given tickets for this. A CM asked us how many of us there were and told us to come back to the next show at 3pm this was about 1pm, unfortunately we never went back because we had fast passes for TOT and missed our 3 pm slot!

Same thing happened to my family in May. CMs at the attraction were handing out "tickets" with a return time on them. You could choose to wait in the standby line in case the show was not filled by the returning ticket holders. We chose to wait in the standby line because the return time on the tickets we would have received was two hours later. We had no problem entering the show after the ticket holders had entered though the standby line did get long. I could see that you might have a problem not having a ticket during the more crowded times.

Not sure if they're still doing this, or why, but at least last month they were giving tickets out for this with a return time. At the attraction there is (or was) a sign saying to see a cast member for a return ticket. My only guess is that this location tends to house temporary attractions, so maybe they don't want to go to FP+ with it.

Actually fortunately for you.

Ride? It's not a ride, it's a show. And one that is hugely popular!

Popular?! Maybe for first timers to get in but I have never heard of anyone returning. Personally I was not impressed and was very disappointed in Disney.

I have returned. More than once. So now you've heard of one.
OP, If you go into it knowing that it's just a special effects display and not a ride or big show, you'll probably enjoy it. Many people think it's stupid, some of us like it. I don't need everything to be Splash Mountain - small attractions are a nice addition to my day.
I think the reason for the tickets is that Disney realizes it's not something people should be waiting on a long line for. I'd take advantage of the ticket, you should decide for yourself if you like it.

oh dear is it that bad!? Did I have a lucky escape? I did here that it was going to be replaced soon but rumours are always going around so I guess we'll have to see

One of the worst "attractions" in my many years of park going. Once was definitely enough. I was with a Johnny Depp/Pirates films fan (I'm not) and even SHE hated it!

Underwhelming, perhaps. And I won't dispute that FOR YOU and your friend it may have been "one of the worst". Opinion is personal. But it doesn't hold true for everyone. I can think of a lot worse attractions: Backlot tour (especially if you remember the original), the Narnia attraction that predates Capt. Jack, Stitch in MK. And how about Capt. EO. Now there's a stinker. But still there after all these years.

I enjoyed it for what it is, not for what I wish it was. I'll see it again on our next visit.

I'm another one that is once and done with Jack Sparrow. Not saying I won't ever go back because I might. But it's never been a priority.

In a thunderstorm, it's dry ;)

Narnia, yep once and never went back while it ran.
SGE I've been a couple of times, but only because the people I was with wanted to go.
BackLot, been a lot, but my 5yo likes tram rides. He even makes us ride the parking lot tram when we are down there without a car.
Cpt EO, yep once since it's been back.. I went 3-4 times durning the original run. It did not age well.

Thank you Minnie Mum.
It kinda upsets me when people trash an attraction so badly that others say they're glad they missed it.
I hate Stitch, but I'm glad I tried it. There are people out there who really like Stitch - how am I supposed to know if I'm one of them if I don't try it?
There are a bunch of things I think are awful. Chef Mickey, Tony's, Stitch, Capt Eo, Dole Whips.... but I would never tell someone else not to waste their time.
Again, I personally wouldn't wait more than a few minutes, but if there's no line, I'm happy to go in and enjoy the attraction - and the return window ticket system makes that available to everyone.
I also hate broccoli and mushrooms ... maybe no one else should try those.

I agree I think that everyone should try something atleast once. We try to take in every attraction/ride/show that my scaredy cat/motion sickness self will allow. I don't recommend it but I don't recommend skipping it either. We waited in a line and our anticipation grew. Just wish I knew what to expect. I honestly thought it was a preshow and that the exit was the show not the bright sunny outdoors that we were greeted with. I just don't think anyone should be disappointed if they happened to miss it on their last trip. It is what it is.
