Ticket discount on new DVC promotion

Not sure if this belongs in the DVC forum, but I’ll start here because my underlying question could apply to any promotion involving discounted tickets tied to an on-property stay:

So there’s a new promotion for DVC members (not the package deal Deni reported on yesterday) whereby if you book a stay of four nights or more and buy park tickets, you get two free days added onto those tickets.

I have a 7-day trip already booked (on points) for this coming Feb. I also bought four 7-day PH tickets for the stay.

Do you suppose if I called in, CS would rebate me the two-day difference between a 5-day and a 7-day ticket?

I know the price differential between a 5-day and 7-day ticket isn’t huge (~ $35), but across four tickets, that’s $140. Won’t make or break me, but if I found $140 lying on the street, I sure as heck wouldn’t walk by it.

Worth a call? Or a non-starter?

Did you call? Did it work? We have a stay on points coming up for June. They have been advertising the plus 2 days thing all throughout the Christmas special this morning and it's good through September!
Thanks and Merry Christmas!

I did. See my post on the previous page.

Long story short - the offer is not simply ‘2 days free”. It is “2 days free when you buy a 4-day ticket”. So my 7-day trip was incompatible with the offer.

Does this apply to renting points? My friend rents points a lot from her cousin and asked me if I knew if that was possible before she bugged him since I'm always on the disney up and up lol

anyone know?

I just called Member Services and was told they cannot sell these tickets until Jan 5 and that they have no information....should I call back and try for someone else?

Finally found the offer online and it looks like you might be able to do tickets of more than 4 days and get the 2 free days. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/2-extra-ticket-day/

I read through the offer and didn't see where it called out DVC anywhere. Almost seems like you need to do a room + ticket package. DW & I have AP but are needing tickets for DS for March trip, staying on points at BWV. Not sure if this offer will help out.

I bet you can refund the tickets and rebuy. I just called a few weeks ago to get a refund on 8 day passes cause I don't plan on going anytime soon again. they didn't even hesitate. got my refund amazingly in 10 days. So cx them and rebuy if you want?

You can refund and rebuy, but again, this promotion is only good for taking a 4-day ticket and making it a 6-day ticket. I need 7 park days.

If I got a refund on my existing 7-day ticket, bought a 4-day, plussed it up to a 6-day via the promotion, I would still need to buy a single-day ticket. That would eliminate any savings I would recognize going from 4-day to 6-day, and in fact, I would wind up paying more than if I just stick with my existing 7-day ticket.

There are two different offers. One for DVC members, one for GP. Both are offering the "2 free days if you buy a 4-day ticket" deal.

The DVC one does allow you to have booked with points, but it's not simply "two days free". It's limited solely to plussing up a 4-day ticket into a 6-day ticket.

That is not for DVC, unfortunately. The CM I talked to last week said the DVC version of the promotion was just for the 4-day ticket, but she did hint that the offer might be tweaked to provide more flexibility for cases like mine.

Also, she was totally ready to refund my 7-day, purchase me a 4-day and then bump me back up to a 6-day right then and there when I called on Dec. 22nd. Long before Jan. 5th. 🤔

Just a tip touringplans.com has a cheapest ticket calculator that hunts all of the reputable certified disney ticket brokers to find the best deal. It will probably get you a comparable discount allowing you to book a room only discount.

https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/ticket-calculator#

I did use TP's ticket calculator to buy MYW ticket at a discount. And then I upgraded the ticket to PH when that was announced. So I price-bridged, and these are now treated as direct-purchase tickets, not 3rd-party. 😉

Thanks for this! We have 7 days too, so we're debating maybe going to a water park that day, or maybe even just sleeping in, hanging by the pool and maybe mini golf? We also debated going to Universal, but that seems a little pricey to me right now.

I decided not to worry about the promotion. Nobody in my family was inclined to give up a park day, so it was a square peg in a round hole for us.

It does not. It only applies to DVC owner who also qualify for the Membership Extras (AKA have a Blue Card for buying direct from DVC).

From the DVC website:

Important Details:
Minimum 4-night length of stay required. Offer valid for number of guests on Member’s eligible room reservation. Tickets must be purchased in advance through Member Services. Offer requires eligibility for Membership Extras. Cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion. Ticket valid for admission beginning on date selected as start date and must be used within a limited number of days, depending on ticket length and type. Other limitations and restrictions may apply. Visit DisneyWorld.com/usage or contact Member Services for more details. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date are required. Theme park reservations are limited and subject to availability. Offer is subject to termination without prior notice.

It's worth confirming what qualifies as a "Member's eligible room reservation".

I've been on hold for an hour to be told their system doesn't allow them to add the 2 days to already purchased tickets.

In a similar situation right now. We called DVC member services yesterday to purchase the 4 Day + 2 Free Night ticket, the rep told us their system was down and that we could only get the 4 day tickets and that we can call back later to add the 2 free days once their systems are up. We purchased the 4 day tickets there and then as the rep suggested and called back today to get the upgrade. Member services says they can't help us then they transfer us to Ticketing who tells us they can't help us and we should talk to member services. Just constantly getting bounced back and forth between those two departments for over 5 hours now. Really don't know what to do now because we're suppose to leave Saturday for the parks.

Edit: ticketing guy on the phone just cut us off and transferred us to member services without even saying a word lol

I believe they have to refund your existing tickets and then issue new ones with the 2 free days added. That is what the CM was going to do for me originally.
