Ticket differences between disney and authorized sellers?

I'm considering taking my girls to Disney World this summer but am looking at ticket prices. The authorized sellers like Park Savers and Undercover Tourist seem to have slightly better prices so on the face of things that seems like a better way to go. Is there a good reason to not go that route?

Also, us being able to go is not set in stone. There are various unknowns that could change plans. My question here is if I buy tickets from a reseller, does anyone know if there is an expiration date on it? I was thinking of going ahead and buying the tickets but if we have to cancel, then just hang on to them until next summer or whenever time frees up.

I've seen talk about expiration dates from the time you use the tickets but haven't seen anything about how they're good from the time you buy them.

I too have used UT, and had a great experience with them. We had to return our tickets once after plans fell through, and they were very easy to work with and refunded our money (with a small fee which is disclosed when you buy the tickets). There was no hassle and no problems. They sell legitimate Disney park tickets, so the same "rules" for expiration apply to their tickets. I do believe they ask you for your trip dates when you order (or maybe I'm thinking of Get Away Today for DLR tickets). But they don't arrive with specific dates on them.

I too used to purchase from UT, however it is extremely easy in today's environment to purchase discount Disney gift cards that can be used to purchase tickets. For this reason, the resellers haven't been competetive versus direct from Disney for me in years.

UT is great and we've used them in the past. They often don't have a huge discount but it's something when you think of having to pay for tickets at full price.

They don't expire until you activate them (i.e. use them to get in). We have 4 5 day park hoppers that we haven't used yet but plan to use those next few times we go.

There are now expiration dates for 1-day tickets. That change went into effect yesterday. 1-day tickets will now expire at the end of the following calendar year (i.e. if you purchase today, the ticket will expire Dec. 31, 2017). Multi-day tickets still do not have expiration dates. But they will expire 14 days after their first day of use.
