Ticket and magic band question

If I receive my tickets and make fastpass selections and do not use a ticket does that mean the ticket is still good for next trip as long as I do not enter a park? And also what happen to the magic band if a person decides not to go on trip? Will it need to be returned? Made reservations, customized magic band will receive tickets from UT soon and want to make fastpass selections. Now one person in group is thinking of pulling out. TIA
