Ticket and FP+ question

We are planning on staying offsite with family from Oct. 26-31st. Check-in at BLT on 10/31-11/6. I am planning on purchasing the tickets thru the Disney website separately from our hotel, so we can use the tickets while we are offsite. How will Disney know when we are planning on using the tickets so we can start booking the FP+ at 30 days for offsite? Did that make any sense??? Will I still be able to book the FP+ for when we are onsite at the 60 day timeframe?

Thanks so much!!!

Once your ticket is linked to your MDE account you can make FP+ reservations relevant to your trip dates, 60 days prior for on-site and 30 days for off-site. Disney doesn't know when you plan to use them but with the ticket and hotel reservations linked to your account they'll be able to "see" that you qualify for the on-site perk of 60 days in advance. At your 30 day mark the system will "see" that you have a valid ticket and allow for FP+ to be made during the off-site portion.

Right the system doesn't care how you bought the tickets. I have old tickets linked to my MDE account. I can make FP+ reservations for the next 30 days. 60 days out from my resort stay, those days will also be active. My trip onsite reservation starts January 3rd, So, on Nov 4th, I will be able to Make FP+ reservations for Nov 4-Dec 4 and Jan 3-End of day of checkout.

They won't know. It's a rolling 30 days once you have linked the tickets. If you were booking today, you could book for any date that is within 30 days from today.

I believe that once you get access to your onsite 60-day window, you will actually have access to the full 60 days up to that point as well. I am currently around 40 days out from my trip. Not only do I have access to the next 30 days (as anyone with tickets in MDE would, now) and starting from my check-in date through the end of my resort stay, but I also have access to FP+ for the days immediately prior to my check-in day (but longer than 30 days out).

Thank you for all of the replies! It all makes sense to me now. Right now, I have everything booked as a MYW package, but will be changing it soon just to a room reservation and the tickets separately. Maybe once that is completed I will be able to see the 30-day window.

Thanks so much!
