Ticket advice needed

Now that Disney has changed their tickets, I need some advice. The kids and I are heading back to WDW in January 2006 for a short visit. Here's the problem, we'll definitely be there for 3 days, depending on the return flight time, maybe 4 days. Additionally, we are going in 2007 for a full 7-8 days. So here are my ticket options:

1) 3 Day passes - no need to pay for non-expiring-If we stay an additional day we can buy 1 day tickets at WDW.

2) 4 Day passes - pay for non-expiring (in case the 4th day falls thru)

3) 8 Day non-expiring - Later I can pick-up either 3 or 4 day for 2007.

All would be Park Hoppers.

Any thoughts?
Thanks :earsboy:

I am in the same situation. My dh and I have been battling over whether to buy five day expiring passes or the ten day non expiring passes (Since my sister works down there and we anticipate visiting her frequently). For a little over $100 more we can get the ten day but its an expensive initial output.

What about an AP? Is your 2007 going to be in January as well?

Now I'm not up on these MYWs since they are new, but would buying two sets of tickets be less than getting a 10-day MYW non-expiration? You could possibly be there up to 12 days and I'm not sure if some of those are half/travel days. Or maybe use some of your vacation days for a water park or resort visit?

It is more of an investment in the beginning, but if you save money in the long run, its worth it. I bought a 7-day PHP last year and we only used 4 days...hence our October trip this year!! :teeth:

Make up your own chart to show what is the best deal for you for the new ticketing. Assume you're "Magic Your Way Base ticket." First-off, if you think you're going for four days . . . but maybe only three . . . buy the four-day adult pass-- it's only $14 more than the three-day pass ($11 for 3-9 yr olds) -- if you buy the 3-day & then decide to stay 4 days, adults pay 1-day $59.75 (plus another $35 for park-hopper add-on). Ouch. Non-expiration fee doubtful "investment." Only time it makes any sense is if you think you're going to do a 4-day WDW & some day a 3-day WDW. 10-day such a bad deal WDW doesn't promo it. If you can do your WDWing within a 12-month time frame, buy an AP -- much better deal.

(1) A terrible deal if you end up having to buy the fourth day as a separate ticket for $65.

(3) A terrible deal compared with buying expiring passes for each vacation.

Eight day non-expiring pass to start with: $322.
Four day pass to finish second vacation: $197. Total $519.

contrast with

Four day expiring pass for first vacation: $197.
Eight day expiring pass for second vacation $215: Total $412.

(hopping costs the same fot both scenarios)

Thanks for the recommendations! SeashoreCM has the plan I think I need to follow.
