THV (Treehouse Villas) amenities

Hi, sorry if this has been discussed.

Will the THV's have:

- buses
- pool(s)
- bar/pool bar
- food area (like snacks for breakfast lunch etc the way OKW has it set up?)
- TS restaurant

Or, will people need to get to SS for these things (via internal shuttle or walk or golf cart?)

Do you think people (in your opinion) will mostly do their own cooking in these villas?

Based on how the Treehouses were set up in the past, there will be a bus route included, there will be a pool, there won't likely be a pool bar, food court or TS restaurant since those amenities are part of SSR.

Originally guests staying in the Treehouses were able to rent golf carts for transportation between that area and the main resort. There is no news thus far about whether that will be available in this reincarnation.

There will be 60 THV, so it's a relatively small subset of SSR. There was originally a lighted walkway across the Trumbo Canal over to the main resort and that is still there (it's a portion of the walkway between OKW/SSR/DD). It is wide enough for carts, but is used by walkers, joggers as well as motor traffic for maintenance staff traversing between OKW and SSR.

I remember something about the treehouse area being protected for wildlife or something. Its why the treehouses have to stay on their current 'footprint.' If thats true, I would think that anything not currently there, won't be built.

I'd bet that the remoteness, making it feel like a true treehouse, and the environmental concerns, will prohibit a lot of amenities being conveniently nearby.

It's all about what you want. If you want the convenience of close-by stuff, then THV may not be for you. If you want that treehouse experience and could give a hang about if there's a restaurant right there in your subset area, then THV may fit the bill for you.

I'd love to try this myself sometime. Especially since the artist rendering pic shows a grill at the bottom of the stairs. We are huge grillers and would love that option.

I can't wait to stay there and rent a golf cart!! I'll let all of my fellow neighbors know I have a cart so they can steer clear of my and my family!

I hope they don't make the THV yet another stop on the SSR park buses. They were already packed as it was when we were there last December.

As for the footprint, they actually REDUCED the footprint to meet some wetlands regulations.

If I remember correctly, there were like 6 small pools in the THV area. There we small even by quiet pool standards, though. Any idea if they kept these?

Points charts have not been released yet. Yesterday while speaking with my guide when she called me to talk about BLT, I asked her more questions about THV than BLT. She said the charts haven't been finalized yet, but "should be" in the next few weeks. She said that THV will be technically part of SSR, but considered a separate resort. No details on amenities, but basically did reiterate that if it wasn't already there before, it wasn't going to be built due to the wetlands issue. She said she's optimistic that sales will begin sometime in the next few weeks. Of the two part announcment, she said that it was basically a 90/10 split, with the primary focus on BLT - no really? Hopefully we'll all know more SOON.

Do you know if TRV will be sold under SSR or by themselves? (meaning do you become a SSR owner or independent TRV owner?) Do you think the 11 month window will work at TRV if you are a SSR owner only?

Sure will be interesting to see how all of this will unfold! I hope the THV/SSR details will work out well for DVC owners. I wonder if it will be next to impossible to get a reservation, and am curious to see what the demand will be like when the time comes to begin booking. Looking forward to seeing the 360 view of the villas on the disney dvc website!

I believe they are all going to be 3 bedroom villas, based on the announcement and the way they are designed.

They will all be 3 bedroom villas, but will sleep the same number of people as the AKV 2 bedroom villas.

I'm not so sure I like the idea of making the master bed a queen. Deb, are you with me on that one?
