An elementary school teacher gave each child in her class the first half of a well-known proverb and asked them to come up with the remainder of the proverb. Their insight may surprise you!



A bird in the hand is ... a real mess.


You have nothing to fear but ... your principal.


Better to be safe than ... punch a 5th grader.


The squeaking wheel gets ... annoying.


I think, therefore I ... get a headache.


Early to bed and early to rise ... is first in the bathroom.


Don't bite the hand that ... looks dirty.


Don't put off 'til tomorrow what you ... put on to go to bed.


If at first you don't succeed ... get new batteries.
