I love to listen and watch them. I don't like that people can get hurt, but watching mother nature at work can be breathtaking.

I grew up on a farm, and to us, storms were nothing but trouble. The lightning is dangerous, the torrential rain would drown the crop, the wind did all sorts of damage.

My mother always taught us kids to put on our shoes during a thunderstorm. This was because she was taught that same thing and it was so they could run to the root celler if needed. Well, we had a basement, and didn't have to run outside, but we still had it ingrained into us to put on our shoes.

To this day I still put on my shoes during a thunderstorm.

90% of the storms here ar thunder-boomers. Ya get used to it. I don't mind the light show, it's usually purty. It's the storms that contain hail that I hate. Beats everything up real good.

Utah rain is just fine as with Utah thunderstorms. Florida storms scared the lights outta me, no idea why one is so much more intense than the other...

i get REALLY nervous when there is a storm..i start to pace around and look out the windows...and i cant sit still....yea....i dont like em too much..

one from from Twister Land(aka tornado alley)

a week from last Thursday was my first run with a twister and it was a F0 to F2 in about a country wide area(5 twisters)

I love thunder and lightening. We rarely if ever see it here. In the 13 years I've lived here. I have seen/heard it 3x. When I lived in Fairbanks (Alaska) we'd hear it almost nightly in the summer. Sooo cool!!

The worst storm I have ever experienced was whilst flying over the Atlantic in a 747. :scared:

The plane was being tossed around like a cork - very scary, I was very pleased when we landed that night! :scared1:

I love them as long as I am inside. They are very soothing. I hate being out in lighting scaed to death of it. I have also seen it from a plane over nevada the plane i was in had to circle until it was over to land and it was amazing to look down at it.

Not overly fussed about lightening, but thunder is ok. Just don't like it when the strorm is right above the house & the crack of thunder just about sends you through the roof:teeth:

Love lightning!! :bounce:

We don't get much here on our island (they do on Oahu), so when it thunders, you wonder for a minute what that noise is.

We hadn't heard thunder/seen lightning for the first 3 years we were here. Being from Chicago, that was extremely weird. Chicago has GREAT storms. (Well, I suppose if you're freaked, you'd say they were AWFUL.)

This winter we've had a couple of big storms, but they're not like on the mainland. There was a HUGE clap of thunder last Sunday, and I figured we were in for a downpour, etc., and there wasn't a drop of rain, and never heard another sound. It's weird.

I always love a good storm (providing in home and not trying to drive around in it,lol). When it was just me and my two and a good storm came along we would turn off all the lights in my bedroom and lay on the bed just watching the lightning and stuff.
