Thunder Mountain refurb…

I’m pretty bummed to have recently noticed that BTMRR is going to be down starting September 7th, but all I see is Fall 2021 for reopening… I’m pretty sure it will still be down when we’re there starting the week after that, but if anyone has any info on when it will be back up, I’d love to hear it!

If only Disney would have had an empty park for a year+ to do this refurb so returning guests could enjoy this attraction…

And yet the ride can keep going till September 7th, over a month away.

Probably more of a planned refurb that is cheaper now that more workers are back.

Where did you see this? We have a trip planned starting 9/15 and Big Thunder is my absolute favorite ride, I'm so sad if we're going to miss it!!

It is on the attraction page for BTMR. Sadly we are in a similar boat coming Sept 9-13, but compared to completely unique rides at DL versus WDW, missing this one will be sad but excited for the other rides it offers (assuming this turns out to be the only major one down)

We'll be there Labor Day weekend. It's my hubster's favorite DL ride. I'm sorry for those who will miss it on their trip...looks like we dodged the bullet!

aw bummer! I was really hoping to ride DL's version and see how different it is -- I've seen vloggers say that it's much better than WDW's version. Crap

I noticed this as well when checking hours. So far they only have the calendar up through 9/12 and have it listed as closed on that day:

Our trip is in late September so fingers crossed it's a quick one. Going to keep stalking the hours calendar to see if they put up an end date.

I was just poking around on the app, checking hours and closures for September… the hours aren’t even up yet for our dates (beginning the 16th) but it says closed starting on the 7th. If you click on the ride info, it tells you… but there’s no end date, just
“Fall 2021…” The first day of Fall is the 22nd, so it will definitely be closed for our entire trip, unless it opens ON that day…

We're going in mid-October. I'm hoping that it'll be a short refurb as well, that's one of our favorite rides, especially at night!

I hope it's a quick refurb as well. I think the DL version is definitely better than DW one, and I doubt we'll be back to DL for awhile after our Oct trip
