My DH arrived back from Bellingham, WA via Skybus on Saturday. He has nothing but praise for the new airlines. Everything went smoothly and his flight was actually 15 minutes early coming in. Only minor problem was they ran out of the large meals but still had all kinds of smaller goodies to offer.

A flight attentent asked by a show of hands how many only paid $10 for their seats and about 30 people raised their hands...way more than the 10 seats for $10 advertised!

This flight is ending the first of the year, but a flight attendent told DH there's talk it will start up again during the summer for the busy season in WA.

Most of you on here are interested in the Skybus flights into FL. We'll be flying Skybus on Thanksgiving day to St. Augustine. (That's next week! :rotfl2: :woohoo: :yay: :hyper: ) I'll let you know how it goes. And yes, we got our seats for $10!!

That's great for the passengers, short term, but doesn't bode well for the future of the airline. 30 passengers @$10 means Skybus probably didn't make any money on this flight.

Skybus can't keep routes that only sell at $10.

Did the airline measure or weight your carry on bags?

I doubt it if skybus is letting more then 10 of the 10 dollar tickets go per trip. What is the chance that these people already had flights planned before they announced they were cutting the washington service and they decided to use them earlier?

I hope Skybus gets up and running back to WA again we need more choices to go East, but their times were pretty inconvenient out to FL. I would have had to stay overnight in Columbus, which would have negated any type of discount I got for flying with them. Something tells me it's not going to happen though because of the stories they've been telling us. "We're cutting West Coast to East Coast runs to save money." Yeah, right. They added another one to Burbank or something like that (it's a cross-country flight). Maybe someday down the road... sigh.

You'd all laugh though if you saw the Bellingham Airport. It's like the one on that older tv show, Wings. Not kidding, it's only got 3 check-in desks, one security line and you actually have to walk out onto the tarmac to get onto your plane. Oh, and it doesn't have an actual baggage carousel, it's got a baggage "trough" that they open up from the tarmac and you get your luggage there. It's pretty comical. But, flying out of there leaves you with no other traffic, so I can see how they got in early. There's no waiting on the runway...
