Part 106 of Jill tries to book a short break.

On Sunday I told you all how I'd finally booked My Travel Explorers, well I then spent all day yesterday regretting it.:sad2:

For a number of reasons really:
1) Shuttle buses -after 14 hours on a coach I think the last thing we'll want is to be getting on another bus.:rotfl2:

2) I can't bring myself to stay in anything other than a Disney hotel, my boys really aren't bothered - it's me :guilty: those characters in the hotel at breakfast time make all the difference in the world to me.:wizard:

3) I loved the walk around Lake Disney, and I loved feeding the ducks with rolls we'd pinched from breakfast last time and I loved walking to and from the hotel through the Village, it's just such a nicer experience than getting pushed and jostled on the buses.:crowded:

4) It means we can have the GMF breakfasts - as we're only actually in the parks for 2 days - every second counts :hourglass

5) It means I can cross another one off my list of "Hotels I need to stay at in DLRP before I die":yay:

because ..............................................drum roll....................................................................................................
a lovely lady called Jane at Leger Holidays, who didn't say "Oh God - it's you again!" has just changed my booking to the Sequoia Lodge, well you all rave about it so much I just had to and now I really am excited. I was quite excited before obviously but there was something missing, now it's all fallen into place, I'm really really excited, can't wait for the boys to come home so I can tell them. I'm off to start packing - Woohoo!!!  :banana:    :banana:

Just one itsy bitsy thing, I was so excited when she said yes, I forgot to ask her if we could have a Montana room, I really, really don't want to phone her again and it's not essential but if I wanted to could I just ask at "check-in" if there are any Montana rooms available ?
Thanks for listening folks.:dance3:

I'm so excited I used up my quota of "Smilie", there's a couple of dancing bananas missing - sorry .:flower3:

It sounds WONDERFUL !! I'm so glad that everything worked out !! :cool1:

Don't forget to take photos...!! and ENJOY...ENJOY....ENJOY !!

Good for you Jill. I am glad you got what you wanted. I will share in your banana dance :rotfl2:

Great news Jill. In return I hope you'll thank us with a full (read very) trip report ;)

Congrats on booking.

We are looking at Sequoia ourselves, what's the difference between a Montana and a regular room?

Congrats again

:cool1:

Whenever I've gone with Leger I've been in one of the lodges at Sequoia. I love it but when you travel by coach you are somewhat dumped in the hotel lobby and left to fend for yourself. We were twenty minutes looking for Big Sur last time!!!

Then I shall have to make sure the boy's take the compasses I bought them at Christmas and send them off on a tracking adventure while I settle down to one of Disney's out of this world cocktails. :)

Thanks everyone, I really am bursting with excitement now.

crim1978 - the Montana rooms are in the main building, standard rooms are in the lodges, I think it's a nominal extra charge to upgrade to a Montana room, just thinking it's more convenient for breakfast, reception, swimming pool etc.
Other than that I think the only difference is a mini-bar in the room.:)

   Sounds great Jill!

Before I booked our trip when I was comparing prices, I rang Ledger and asked if we could book Montana rooms through them and they said no the didn't offer Montana rooms. So unless things have changed your best bet would be to ask at reception on arrival :)

For anyone curious about a complimentary upgrade - ASK! I suspected that during slow periods they actually upgrade people to the main building so as to reduce housekeeping resources in the outer buildings. I actually asked a manager, and she agreed.... SHHH!

 That's great news Jill.

I would just ask at check in about upgrading your room. We've stayed in a lodge and it's not really that much of a walk to the main building. You may actually be allocated a Montana room anyway. Fingers crossed:thumbsup2

Jill,

I'm so glad you feel more comfortable about your new choice of hotel:goodvibes

I am keen to read how you get on given our mutual LOVE of TNB. :rotfl: :goodvibes

I know you will have a great time.

Thanks everyone I know I've done the right thing because I feel different about the whole holiday and my 2 DS's are going with the flow, completely underwhelmed by it all, they'll be different when we get there, they asked for the trip afterall:)

Thanks for the info on the upgrade, it's not a big issue, but I'd made a mental note to ask and then completely forgot, but if Leger don't do Montana rooms anyway, nothing lost. I will ask about the upgrade though - you never know.:goodvibes

That sounds wonderful Jill :cheer2:

Thanks everyone I know I've done the right thing because I feel different about the whole holiday

::yes:: I understand exactly how you feel. So glad you're feeling happy about it now :goodvibes
