Throwaway room for ADR split stay?

We are going to WDW for a week in February, doing a split stay between two resorts
My ADR window is opening soon and I just realized the date of my ADR booking falls on my DS’s first kindergarten day
I am worried I won’t be able to make the ADRs, plus I am worried that having a split stay will make it harder to get everything we want
Can I make an overlapping reservation that starts one day prior to my actual date and get all my ADRs on a day where I will be less stressed about making it in time for my son’s first day?
I am usually very respectful of the rules but this would make my life so much easier?
Any input would be very much appreciated!

You will have 2 adr windows. One for each stay. You can’t make them for your entire stay when you have a split stay

I know and this is one of the reasons why I am asking
I know the FP issue with split Stays is now resolved but has anyone done an overlapping resort reservation to avoid that?
Again not trying to break the rules - I will be staying onsite for the full week. I would book a fake room-only reservation and cancel it afterwards (keeping my initial reservations)
I just want to try and avoid booking ADRs on my DS’s first kindergarten day... is that feasible???

Thank you
It’s my first time booking for a one week stay and I just don’t know what to expect... I guess I am overthinking this!

Just book when you can. If you don’t get everything you want, setup a touring plans reservation finder. Truthfully, some of the coveted dining places are grossly overrated.

Truthfully, it sounds silly. It is a dining reservation. Is it really worth all the hassle? Only you can answer that.
Exactly. On our last trip we made no ADRs until a few weeks after the 180 and got everything we wanted. IMHO, none of the dining at WDW is worth the trouble worry make it out to be. Once we got there we changed about several of them as they no longer fit with how we were touring the parks.

I have a split stay during free dining and had no trouble rearranging our plans a few times since 180. If you have something that is incredibly hard to get just book that one and then do the rest later in the day. I agree with the touring plans reservation finder I’ve had great luck getting really difficult reservations with it. Enjoy the first day of kindergarten!!

We didn’t even book our trip until we were well within the 180 days and got everything we wanted. I did use Touring Plans reservation finder for our BOG lunches and ‘Ohana dinner but got them easily. You’ll be fine!

I’m so glad Isabelle. It is so stressful trying to plan the perfect trip.

Enjoy your son’s 1st day of kindergarten. Cry the tears, take the pictures and enjoy the moment.
