All caught up. I've been to Dollywood...lots of fun. Dolly's old tour bus still there? The Smoky's are beautiful! Sounds like a nice vacation!

It was lots of fun! Her old tour bus is still there- it was fun to see inside! It was a great trip- I want to go back!

Well, I doubt it's Test Track, but you never know. I've known people who nap in cars.

The Soarin FP line sounds rough. I can only imagine how annoying that was! What were the people who wanted to form two lines trying to accomplish? lol

Journey Around the World Showcase

When I left off, we had just finished up on Test Track and were finally on our way into the World Showcase.

It was just about 5 pm so we were headed to Norway to use the FP+ we got earlier for FEA from 4:30-5:30. We used the path near Test Track that goes past the Odyssey building, First Aid and bathrooms into the World Showcase and couldn't resist stopping for some photos.



I was happy to see the Flower and Garden flowers still in the water and had to stop when I saw the monorail coming for more photos!



Since I find it hard to bypass a character meet, we first stopped in Mexico when we saw Donald. At first I thought there was no line at all but then I realized they had the line on the left side of Donald instead of against the wall where we've always waited. It still wasn't a long line though so we stopped.

We chatted with a nice mom in front of us who was on her first trip with her 3 boys. She was trying to use the directions function in MDE and was confused about where she needed to go next so we helped her figure it out. She asked if we'd ever used that part of the app before and when I said no, she asked why and I had to admit I never realized it existed. (I didn't mention that WDW is one of the only places on earth I don't need a map for).

After about 10 minutes, it was our turn to meet Donald!





I think Donald wanted some flowers for his sombrero!

I think this one is when Mike told Donald he likes him better than Mickey (such treason!)



I have no idea what Donald and I are looking at and laughing but I think it's very funny that Mike has no clue what's happening.

After our meet and greet, it was 5:20 so we quickly made our way to Norway.



We quickly walked through the FP line and were boarding in no time. Apparently I took exactly one photo on the ride.

You can half see us in the back there. It's a cute ride that I'm always happy to find a FP for but definitely nothing I would wait in crazy lines for!

After our ride, we had no concrete plans except to relax and walk through the World Showcase. I picked up a FP for Illuminations just in case but it's really not my favorite place to watch from. One of my plans before the trip had been to watch from the bridge near the IG and then go to the Boardwalk after but since we were already exhausted at 5:30, it was clear that wasn't realistic.

We made our way into China and we (I) decided it was time for some more food.




I think I take almost this exact picture every trip because I love how pretty it is.

I love the Orange Chicken at the China QS so we decided to split that and an order of potstickers with some cups of ice water. No matter how often we go to Disney during the summer months, the heat and humidity always gets to me.





At $18, this was clearly not a gourmet meal but the food is consistently good each time we go and this was more than enough food for both of us.

Fun fact: I found out on this trip that there are bathrooms in the China QS! I always thought I had to walk back to Norway to pee lol.

There was no line while we were leaving so we got two more cups of ice water to take with us.

Our next stop was Germany. It was 6:03 and Snow White was due out at 6:20 so we decided to join the one other family in line.

There was a beer calling my name and no line at the stand, so I left Mike in Snow's line and went over to get it.



There was a souvenir cup available and I've never met a souvenir cup I didn't buy sooo, of course I bought it.

We chatted with a nice couple with their small daughter behind us in line and the minutes passed quickly until Snow came out. We ended up letting them go ahead of us because it was clear their daughter's attention span was fading quickly and mine is much longer with a drink in hand.


Snow and I discussed how she could go flower picking with the dwarves to get some for her headband. Popular conversation topic that day.





Mike opted not to be in the photos for whatever reason.

After meeting Snow, I wanted a picture of my drink with the Germany pavillon.



Then we made the requisite stop at the miniature trains before continuing on.





It was such a pretty day, I couldn't help but take some more photos.

Fun meet and greets in the WS, but whew, I bet it was really hot out! Summertime in Epcot is no joke.

18 dollars for a plate of orange chicken and potstickers is a pretty good deal. And perfect sharing portions.
I also had no clue about the bathrooms! Man, that it is good information to know. I'm always trying to decide where I'm closest to, Norway, Germany, or Morraco.

I did know about it and have even tried it.

I'm a little late getting here, but joining in! And happily…still on day 1! Your TR moves about as fast as mine!

Your travel day/pre-travel day sounds like a nightmare. I worked nights for nine years, and I do NOT miss it in the slightest I was younger then though, I don't even think I could do it now.

Also, I noticed we have more in common than nursing…we both have Mikes and we both use the same font in our trip reports

When we left off, we were on our way to Old Port Royale to store the rest of our stuff with bell services so we could go to Epcot.

I spotted these lanterns that I hadn't noticed before on the way in and I thought they were so pretty!

OMG, I'm such a dope. I kept looking at your pic and thinking, "I don't see any lanterns, but how cool to see the Skyliner hanging over her resort."

To make a long story as short as possible, on our trip last October, Mike's MDE account apparently "corrupted" from too much data! We were literally in Magic Kingdom and suddenly couldn't make fastpasses or do anything at all. It took 3 visits to guest relations, 2 phone calls on my own to IT before an amazing CM at Fort Wilderness got to the root of the problem. They ended up deleting his entire account and rebuilding it and we had no more issues for the last few days of our trip. IT had warned us though that this may become a recurring issue on future trips so we weren't totally surprised.

Yikes! That's terrible!

I know there's a lot of debate about whether Fuel Rod's are worth it or not. I think they're great. I know you can buy a much more powerful portable charger for the same $30 or less even, but the ability to swap them out in the parks makes it worth every penny! Now I don't have to run around our hotel room every night plugging in a bunch of chargers and I think it's the best thing ever.

I love our Fuel Rod too. I never remembered to charge up my own portable chargers, now I don't have to.

I went first. You take 3 photos and then choose the one you want to be on your license at the end.

I chose this gem.

In the mean time, I'm off to take a nap before working my 4th straight night after vacation.
