Again, haven't been to the 'Land for 4 years, but in looking at the interactive maps of DCA, it looks like they finally punched through over by ToT, so you can go through Bug's Land and into CarsLand?

Just double checking. That will save a LOT of running around.

Yep, you enter by Luigi's Flying Tires.

Awesome, and isn't there another entrance on the other side? by the Ghirardelli store? So, three in all...is that right?

Yup, 3, the one from Bug's Land, the one from the main street and the one by Ghiradelli, it's really more over by the Luckey Fortune Cookery but the same thing. :) My favorite BY FAR is the one by the Luckey Fortune, much much much better "view" when you come in, but I also love walking down Route 66 at night, so pretty! So my advice is try both of those entrances first and then use the one from Bug's Land. lol

I lost my breath the first time I took the Wharf entrance to Cars Land at night. It took me at least 10 minutes to make the walk so I could take it all in.

DD and I as well, we walked up and just sort of stopped in awe, then slowly made our way in. It was amazing! We will actually walk past the main entrance (Rt 66) to go in via the wharf. :)

Not to be nit-picky...but I guess I am (sorry) :rotfl2: There are actually 4 entrances. The three that Pixiewings described plus a path that runs besides Fillmore's and drops you right in front of Ghiradelli's.

I agree, the entrance from the Fortune Cookery area is amazing. That was the way they led us in during the AP preview (so it was our first view of it due to the construction walls still being up) and it just blew us away :thumbsup2

So many of you are saying how the entrance near the Fortune Cookery is amazing. Would you recommend we enter that way on our first visit to CL?

Can you describe why it is so much better(different?) than the others?

Or does anyone have pictures?

I am so anxious to get there and see for myself! in :cool1:FIFTY FOUR:cool1: days!!!!

It's not an entrance really. It's more of an alternate route, or back entrance. It's beautiful because of the lighting on the rockwork. But it's not like you'll miss it if you enter through the proper Cars Land entrance. I would still recommend you enter, for the first time, through the main entrance.

It is hard to say which you might like more. Coming in the entrace from the Main walkway (across from Blue Sky Cellar) is like walking into the town. You see the street lined with familiar sites (Flo's, the Cozy Cone, the firestation at the end, etc). For big fans of the movie, you might like this entrance more. And if you arrive at night, definitely use this entrance.

When you use the entrance from Fortune Cookery, you are totally immersed in the Cadillac Range landscape. It is like you are out there in the desert. And then the RSR's road comes into view and it is a reminder of the scene where Lightening and Sally go for the drive.

Both will give you the feeling that you have stepped right into the movie. It is your decision which part of the movie you want to see first :thumbsup2

Thanks rokstedy and jetskigrl!

Sounds like both are awesome, especially at night. I know I want to be there when they "light up" and turn on the neon. So so magical!

dang I'm so ready to go right now!!! You'd think I was 10 years old! :goodvibes

DD and I both went in late our first night so it was already dark. We drove from Nor Cal and by the time we got there, got checked into our hotel and had dinner with her Grandparents for her birthday and got our APs activated we didn't get into DCA until about 9:30, they'd already done the Route 66 lighting so we went the way I described (from PW), it was amazing......so beautiful!! I will absolutely recommend going in this way first for the foreseeable future. :) Yes, Rt 66 is adorable and super cute as well, but the PW entrance just felt like magic to both DD and I.

As for the 4th entrance a PP mentioned, I saw that but it looked more like a CM walkway than an entrance into CL so we never went that way. There aren't any signs to indicated it's for CM's only but it just looked like that was the case so we went the other ways. :)

One of my favorite things about all the work done at CA is the path from TOT to Bug's Land to Cars Land! LOVE IT! My feet love it too. :)

And yes, that back way to Cars Land where you see the canyon so well is SO pretty.
