Thrifty

Can anyone tell me about how Thrifty car rental worked for them? We usually use National....like being able to just go right to the Emerald Aisle and pick a car....but for our dates in early November, Thrifty is MUCH cheaper.

We have used Thrifty several times based on price and were pleased. I HATE shuttles, but theirs is painless. It's usually already waiting there for you. The lines were not bad, and we joined Blue Chip (free) to prevent them after renting a couple of times. They've given us a few free upgrades, too. The only slight negative was getting an agent once who was really snotty about the insurance, but that can happen anywhere. Now that we're Blue Chip, that's not even an issue.

I've used Thrifty in Orlando several times and will be using them again this October. I joined the Blue Chip program and went through with ease. The shuttle was pretty much always waiting when I arrived and never had to wait more than a few minutes to get off and going to the rental location.
All in all, I think it took me about 30 minutes longer than using Emerald Aisle. At a savings of over $100, it was worth it.
This trip in October, I needed to get a mini van for 10 days and with taxes, it came out to $290.
