Thrifty compliment and Dodge Stratus ?

I posted this on the Community Board, but thought I would post it here too, since I wanted to pass on my good Thrifty customer service experience.

Can someone tell me what other cars a Dodge Stratus compares too? We are getting a "mid-size 4 door" from Thrifty and am just wondering about the size. I was going to run by the dealership, but haven't had a chance.

BTW...I have to say Thrifty treated me very well...I had gotten an awesome rate a couple of months ago, but realized my times were wrong. I called and the very nice agent (who loved Disney and had worked at DL in college!) fixed my times and kept my great rate. (The times weren't very different, but enough to change the rate.) I was very happy w/ that.

We, too, have a Dodge Stratus reserved with Thrifty and I'm wondering the same thing. By the way, I'm glad you got great customer service. Did you call the toll-free number to arrange the change in times, or the local rental agency. Our airline changed our times (flying in 5 hours earlier) for December, and when I called the toll-free number I was told they'd have to change my entire reservation to reflect current rates even though it didn't affect the amount of days rented for. It would have been over $100 more as we're renting for 11 days. I've left it as is...any info would be greatly appreciated!

The Dodge Stratus is a smaller version of the Dodge Intrepid. It's probably a bit larger than the Pontiac Grand Am, maybe slightly smaller than the Chevy Malibu.

Canadamom, I called the 800 # I got off of the web site. I wasn't changing my time by much, about 2 hours earlier pick up and I can't remember about the drop off time (too early in the morning right now- haven't had my Dr. Pepper yet!). Maybe it helped that I had a cust. service rep who liked Disney and knew that was where we were going! LOL!

There is a Dodge dealership just up the street from where I work and I am going to take a break in a bit and go look at one. I will post what I find out when I get back.

Thanks for the pics Obi-Wan. My mom has a Malibu and it is a pretty good size car. I think we will be fine if the Stratus is a bit smaller, it is just the 4 of us (Myself, DH, DD and DS) and we would only have to worry about the luggage to and from the airport.

I went to check out the Stratus. They look fine. Not real big, but not small either. Actually mid-size, just like they are supposed to be! Nice roomy trunk, should be able to hold several pieces of luggage.

I think we will be happy w/ it, hope it works for you, Canadamom!

Thank you for posting the photos Obi-Wan Pinobi. I think the Thrifty website lists their Stratus as a 4-door, so we'll probably be OK either way now that I've seen pictures of the 2-door. As long as it seats 3 in the back, we can always make an extra "person" out of our luggage!

We just rented from Thrifty and had a "mid-size car" at a GREAT rate!!!! We had a brand new Dodge Stratus. We are a family of 5 with 1 car seat. The luggage was tight...but I always over pack!! We had 2 large suitcases, 2 small suitcases, a McClaren Stroller, a Med duffle bag and a large duffle bag stuffed into the trunk.

Next time I think we will rent something larger but it worked fine for this trip.

You might find the Chrysler Sebring, which is the same platform as the Stratus, just with the Chrysler badges...

We got the Stratus a couple of years ago and the Malibu this time. Though the Malibu was bigger, I preferred the Stratus -- thought it was better made. The Malibu seemed cheaper in some way.

Either one is perfectly fine for running around WDW
