Thrifty Car Rental

Has anyone ever rented through Thrifty? We've found a great deal for the time of our trip through them, but we've never used them before. I wanted to make sure that it will be a good experience!

I use Thrifty a lot. Never had a problem with them.

However they are the last car counter in MCO, then you have to walk back to get the actual car.

I tend to double book rental cars in case I need to make an adjustment. I made an error on my last Thrifty reservation. I had a return day reserved one day LATER than our intended drop off. I didn't notice the error until the day before. I called Thrifty to inform them. They doubled my rental rate and would make no exception, even though they were getting the car back one day early. I cancelled it of course and was glad I had a back up.

I use Thrifty quite often. I'm also Blue Chip member with Thrifty. Free to sign up and more convenient to use. I can just bypass the counter and go straight to pick up. They have my paperwork there and I'm off in no time. Only had one bad experience with Thrifty and that was in Los Angeles. I've rented from them twice in Orlando (MCO) and haven't had any problems.

One word of advice if you choose to rent from them. Be sure to get a receipt for your fuel purchase (if you don't choose the pre-pay option). This is one of the problems I had in Los Angeles. I filled up the tank right before I returned it and didn't get a receipt. Even though the gauge clearly showed it was full, because I didn't have a receipt, they still charged me for gas. It is in their rental agreement that you fill up the tank in a 10 mile radius of the return location and present a receipt. I complained and got compensated, but now I know better and make sure to get a receipt every time.
