In the pre-planning stage of a potential trip with a good friend. They are big into thrifting and I think being able to take a few hours mid-day to do some thrifting would be something they would be interested in and could go a long way to cement the trip. So are there any good thrift stores near by? Looking for VHS tapes, cassettes, unique glassware, books, figurines, salt & pepper shakers and other household items. Have you been to any that you would recommend? Any that should be avoided?

There’s a Goodwill in Kissimmee which is a straight shot down Osceola Pkwy that may be a good pick for your thrifting window. It’s located near the Flora Ridge neighborhood. You’ll see it to your right, as you’ll need to turn onto Dyer Blvd from Osceola Pkwy.

Disneyland. Near Disneyland.

Ah… brain fart! In that case, there’s a Habitat for Humanity ReStore just off W Katella Ave for all your thrifting needs.

I thought the habitat for Humanity stores were appliances, cupboards, etc. Do they have things such as media, books and housewares?

I went to a couple of thrift stores a couple years ago with my teenage sons- Goodwill and one other in a strip mall- and we were disappointed. It was mostly fast fashion. I was hoping for some fun vintage DL Ts.

I am always looking for household things and didn’t find anything for me either.

You might want to check out estate sales when you’re close to your trip. That is where I find my best treasures these days. (EstateSales.com has listings and pictures).
