Wednesday, March 24: EPCOT, Hoop Dee Doo Review
EPCOT opened at 8:00 today, but we got there about 9:30 . We had decided to sleep in, but understood that it may cost us some time standing in line! I ran over to Mission Space to get a Fast Pass, and everyone else got in line for Test Track. The line said it was only a 30-minute wait!! After about 20 minutes in line, the sign changed to a 45-minute wait, then a 60-minute wait, then 120-minute wait!! By now we had already been in line for over 30 minutes, and they told us it was at least a 30-minute wait from where we were standing!! Oh well, we knew there would be lines since we decided to sleep in!! The ride was good; its one of Skylars favorites! We checked out the Hummer, and then headed over to the World Showcase! It was just opening at 11:00; so I figured the crowds wouldnt be that bad! We visited Mexico, and rode El Rio de Tiempo. This is a nice boat ride showing the history of Mexico. Very pretty, and air-conditioned! We visited Norway and Mom took the kids on the Viking Ship. Tim hiked back to get another FastPass to Mission Space. He thinks we might want to do the new ride twice!
I really wanted to start touring the other side of the countries, because the crowds were getting pretty big on this side of the World Showcase, so we went back into Future World to get over to Canada! We stopped by Mission Space and used our first Fast Pass! This ride is incredible you really feel G-forces!! Im glad I did it, but once might be enough for me! It takes me a few minutes to get over the feeling! The backs of my knees were sweating!!
On our way to the World Showcase, Tim and the kids played in one of the pop-jet fountains, and we watched the huge fountain with the music playing! It is a beautiful piece of work! We found some of the yummy roasted nuts, and we had to get both the almonds and the pecans! We toured the world, eating a Mediterranean pizza in Morocco, listening to Mo Rockin, watching the Chinese acrobats, and the Japanese candy artist. The living statue entertained the kids, and grabbed hold of Toris hair while posing! I would have liked to spend more time touring, but the clock was ticking .... we have Hoop Dee Doo tickets for this evening! After completing our whirlwind tour of the world, we went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience. We had received a bonus FastPass for this with our Mission Space FastPass! This is another great 3-D show. We told the kids that they needed to keep their feet flat on the floor for this show surprise!! Mice are running everywhere!!
Tim, Mom, Trevor & Tori wanted to experience Mission Space again, but Skylar and I opted out! We played in Innoventions while they went back to Mars! By now its about 6:00, and weve got reservations for the Hoop Dee Doo Review!! Back to Pop to change our clothes, and then we drive over to Fort Wilderness to whoop it up! The dinner was soooo good!! We were all starving, but the fried chicken was the best Ive ever had!! The BBQ ribs were really good, and so were the salad, beans and corn. The bread and butter even tasted great!! We had a blast watching the show and laughing at the corny jokes! By the end of the evening Tori had a desire to be a can-can dancer and we were all dancing in the streets! Great fun! This was our first time to see the Review - and it was well worth it!! We laugh our way back to Pop Century, and get ready for another fun day .... tomorrow we are definately going to Blizzard Beach! We sadly realize that tomorrow is our next to last day, and we try to decide what we want to "do again" for our final days. Blizzard Beach is a must since we've never been there ... So our plans are made, and our heads are weary ... goodnight Mickey - we sure had fun "hoop dee dooing" tonight!
