This report has a lot of detail, (ie: it's long!!) so I will remember what we did during our Magical trip!
Tuesday, March 23: Disney MGM Studios
It is early morning at MGM, and we dont want to miss a thing! We were there before the 8:00 opening, and first on the rope to head towards Terror of Terror and Rockn Roller Coaster. We decided we like RnR best, so I knew to stay on the left side of the road! We literally ran-walked all the way back to RnR you cant pass the CM, but she can walk really fast!! We were among the very first to ride (Tori is quick to tell us that she was the first one (she stuck right by the CM the whole way!), but she had to wait for us!
After cruising in our limo we grabbed a Fast Pass for this very cool ride! We checked the stand-by line at Tower of Terror, but it was already an hour long!! Its only 8:15!!! Instead, we walked over to Star Tours and rode that. I didnt get as sick on this ride this time, and Mom didnt forget the Mickey ears like she did on our 1999 trip! Tim walked back over to Tower of Terror to get a FastPass for that, while we waited in line for Voyage of the Little Mermaid. I was told that we would have to wait 45 minutes because the next show was sold out, but our Pixie Dust was still with us, and we only waited about 15 minutes, and got into the next show!! We ate and drank a snack from our backpack while we waited, and then enjoyed the wonderful Mermaid show!! You really do feel like youre under the sea during this musical presentation!
We hopped over to Muppet Vision 3-D, which is cute, but really doesnt stand up to the newer 3-D movies. We got in line for Indiana Jones, while Tim ran over for a FastPass to Who Wants to be a Millionaire! We had great seats at Indiana Jones, a few rows up and right in front of the plane!! Although I thoroughly embarrassed my kids with my loud cheering, I was not chosen as a volunteer! We then went back and rode Tower of Terror with our FastPass that is definitely the way to go! No wait at all! I really like this ride, and it's better without the lap bars! I can't say that I really notice the different series of drops in the different times that we rode it .... maybe it's because I'm screaming the whole time!
We were running a little late for our Priority Seating at Sci Fi, and when I checked in I was told there would be a 25 minute wait. Oh well, I really want to eat here, so well wait! Within 2 minutes, our beeper went off and we were off to the drive in! Have I mentioned Pixie Dust?? Tori keeps sprinkling it over our heads!! The Sci Fi is great! A drive-in theater with real Science Fiction movies playing on a big screen. We sat in a blue 57 Chevy and enjoyed some of the best cheeseburgers, onion rings and milkshakes that Ive ever had!! This restaurant has had some negative reviews, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food! What a great break! Feeling cooled off, fed, and relaxed again, we headed over to Who Wants To Be a Millionaire!
Our FastPass got us right in for the next show! Tim and Trevor were both in the top 10 on the very first fast finger question!! Although we all did pretty good answering the questions, none of us got in the top 10 again!! After playing Millionaire, Tim went over to get FastPass for Tower of Terror again, while the rest of us visited Goofy, and pin shopped! By now the kids are trading pins left and right!! Skylar has started collecting the big ride pins, Tori is looking for princesses, and Trevor gets whatever looks cool to him!
We decide to stay for the 4:00 parade, and we are able to get a seat right on the curb! More Pixie Dust??!! The parade is really cute. Cruella gets right in Toris face when Tori reminds her that shes a piece of trash! (Special moment from our last trip! - Cruella really gave the kids a hard time in 2001!) Great interaction from the characters! We follow the parade right up Hollywood Blvd., and out of the park!
Its back to Pop Century for a quick rest! We head back to MGM about 6:30. We ride RnR (remember the Fast Pass we got at 8:00 this morning!?!) and then ride Tower of Terror with the Fast Pass we got around 3:00! This is great! No lines!! I will say that the RnR fastpass was the only one that got questioned all week. We consistently used Fast Passes after their expiration hour, but the CM at RnR said they weren't supposed to let us use them 12 hours later! (But he did let us go through!) There are two Fantasmics tonight, and a lot of people are in the 7:30 Fantasmic! We waited for the 2nd show hoping to avoid the lines! It worked!! We walked into the Fantasmic arena around 8:40 for the 9:00 show! Our seats were good (not great but I cant see getting in line 2 hours early!), and we loved the show! This is another spectacular show! Afterwards, we head back to Pop (Im so glad that our bus stop is the first one at this park!). It got chilly, so the hot chocolate from Everything Pop tastes great!! Its been a long day, so we discuss what we should do tomorrow! We were supposed to go to Blizzard Beach again, but we decided to postpone it for one more day! EPCOT has early morning hour, but we decide that we would rather sleep in and take our chances with the crowds at EPCOT. This might be the only decision that we regret
