Today's Topic (Tue, 4/21) - 3 things you're grateful for about your library and the people who work there

I got nothing on this one I’ve never been to my local library matter fact I haven’t been to a library since I was in school I never go to the library
I’m happy they have libraries I’m happy people can check books out from libraries and I’m happy that there’s people that work in libraries
The last time I was in a library was to hear somebody speak on a book that they were releasing and that was a decades ago
Very grateful when I was a kid that I got to go to a library my aunt took us to it it was a mobile library I thought it was the coolest thing in the world!!!

Libraries ...

The toddler story time I used to take my kids to when they were little.

The teen and adult educational programs.

Of course, all the books.

I thank God for libraries and the blessing from Him of my being able to visit one again in person eventually.

During my early college years, the University library provided a refuge as well as place to study.

Dad and I enjoy going to the huge main library out here.

Smaller libraries where sometimes I have found fun or nostalgia from childhood reads.

Wonderful children's librarian at our local small town library. She is always happy, energetic, and creative in her programming.

Teen librarian at this library is also awesome. She is so engaging and bubbly and has very engaging and fun activities for the kids.

The summer reading programs for adults at this library are also fun.

I can't say enough about this little library. It is backed by a group called Friends of the Library. They do so much to provide a community space and engagement and promote literacy.

Library one town over - When DD19 was looking for NHS volunteer hours, we started looking around to longer term options that would also be good on her resume and for collegiate references. Our town branch was full for the summer, but the local one a town over had space for her in their summer teen intern volunteer program. It went so well that she was brought on year round to volunteer. They gave her such a wonderful referral for her college apps. In fact, it also helped her get a job at OU last year working in their law library.

Current town library - My girls didn't know anyone when we moved here. Houston is a huge metro area so moving from one side of the city to the other might as well be like moving across the country. One of the first things I found for them up here was a Harry Potter series of events at the library. That helped them meet some kids pretty early on.

Town library private rooms - Both of my girls have used them from time to time for anything from SAT prep to small school groups. It's great to have a space to go that doesn't require you to buy coffee or food...that also has a ton of resources and quiet standards to help you get your work done.

Evening all,

I don't really go to my local libraries, I really do need to get back in the habit of walking down to them and having a browse for books. I used to come out with so many!

I am however incredibly grateful that my local library offers a free eBook service, as this pretty much supplies me with books for my Kindle all year round. It doesn't always have the most up to date books but it has more than enough and is probably why I don't go to the physical library as much.

I don't have a physical library nearby, but can borrow ebooks from the county library online. I am grateful for having that ability.

I like going to a library and just walking down the aisles looking at all the books. I have found new authors I never would have read doing just that.

I like that libraries are quiet. Sometimes you just want a pleasant, cool, and quiet place to read.
