Three Things...Gratitude Thread

START A NEW PUZZLE - I never work on a puzzle during the holidays since I need my dining room table for the holidays, so I look forward to starting a new one soon. I have two here - one for Halloween and one for Christmas - decisions, decisions on which one to work on first :scratchin

Me too! DH and I started one on Wednesday, and I'm so glad we're back to it.

Also for January -

Grateful for fresh starts/projects and the return to having a schedule after the blur of the holidays. I really really on routines a lot.

And I'm the weirdo who's grateful for snow ❄️ ⛄️ - not the scary blizzard kind, but the "just a little" kind we got yesterday that is soooo pretty.

Good Friday Morning

I am sitting at my kitchen table and I’m grateful for……
(pictures taken now)

#1 - THIS GUY - He is not a morning dog :sad2:

#2 - SEEING MY FAMILY ROOM FROM THE KITCHEN - I love this about my house. Whatever someone is watching on the family room TV can be seen from the kitchen. I love seeing my 2nd tree from the kitchen. I love being able to see my family from the kitchen.

#3 - THE KITCHEN TV - I’m grateful it has a white boarder and that my DH hung it up so we can easily see it.

Standing Desk - I guess I've been using it for about a year now and it's been part of my big transformation. While the collective changes are big, they say it's the little things that make the difference. So, I guess standing much of the day, moving around a bit more because of it, and not sitting has added up over time.

Disney Memories - My office has the lion's share of Disney memorabilia from our trips. I have all of my rD race medals and bibs next to me, a Donald sketch just above me from a recent DLR DTD trip, holiday light up Mickey ears from 2017, one of several pin boards directly in front of me from the kids' pin trading days, and so on and so on.

Camera bag - Inside that bag is my newest (which is now pretty old) camera body and a bunch of lenses, including one that's been with me for over 25 years. A friend was recently decluttering and griping about the indecision of trashing all of the random little souvenirs from vacations that take up space and do nothing. She asked how I handle it. I said...I don't I don't buy souvenirs unless they are meaningful and all of my photos end up being my souvenirs. So, the contents of that bag created the bulk of my "souvenirs."

Afternoon all,

1. No more Christmas decorations - i love having my Christmas decorations up but I also love it once I've taken them down and my lounge especially looks a lot less cluttered and clearer. I took them down this morning and really appreciate having a nice tidy lounge to look at right now.

2. Coffee - I've just settled down with a nice gingerbread coffee in my lovely Disneyland 70th anniversary mug.

3. My cats - these 2 adorable monsters have been with me for nearly 6 weeks now, and have been allowed today for the first time (in short bursts). It has been a long time since I let cats outside for the first time, my nerves can't handle it!

1. My collection of 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. I started one on Tuesday evening and finished it yesterday. That one went together pretty easy! The last one not so much.
2. My new Disney calendar. I haven't cared for the one Disney has put out for quite some time, but DH found one from WDW Magazine that is pretty good.
3. The special Aunt blanket from my nephew and his wife.
4. The SUNSHINE 🌞🌞🌞🌞that has managed to slip through the clouds and come through my window. I don't remember the last time we have had sunshine here. We live in one of the cloudiest parts of the US.

Good Saturday Morning :cool1:

I’m going to force myself to narrow this down to winter time, which isn’t easy, because I’m not a fan of winter :sad2:🥶

#1 - CRISP COLD AIR - I actually don’t mind a sunny cold day. When we have a really cold summer day, like 10 degrees or colder, I like to open the bedroom windows to get some fresh air in the rooms. I close the bedroom door to keep the cold in just the bedroom. It feels good to get that fresh air in the bedroom.

#2 - MORE DEER - We have a forest next to our house and we always see more deer this time of year. I love watching them from my living room window.

#3 - LIGHT SNOW - It is pretty to look at when I’m home. If I’m out and about then I want no part of it - LOL!

Grass wish I had some I mean I do have some I just not a whole lot my dog done a great job of getting rid of it the deer have helped get rid of it it’s an ongoing you know battle for me to try to have grass you can have a dog or you can have grass but you can’t have both🤣🤣🤣 my dream has always been to have a yard full of beautiful green grass you notice my words were my dream because that’s what it always says my dream 😴 because I have a dog 🐕

Trees 🌲 I love trees lots and lots of trees because they bring birds

Wildlife I enjoy sitting outside and watching the wildlife someday I know I’m going to see a bear in my backyard they’re very close there within 10 miles of my house so I know someday soon I’m gonna get lucky and see a bear in my backyard he’s on my bingo card he’s the last one on there I’ve checked off just about every other animal so I didn’t even have all my bingo card I’ve checked off so I’m waiting for the bear 🐻
A few of the ones that I have checked off I don’t care to see you again but some of the other ones I’ll be happy to see you again like those pesky deer 🦌 or those cute little rabbit rabbits 🐰 as for some of the other ones that could actually do some damage no thank you 🐺

Evening all,

When I think of outside I'm definitely thinking of spring and summer!

1. Nice weather - blue skies and sunshine, it doesn't even have to be super warm as long as it isn't icy.

2. Walking - being able to go walking outside in the aforementioned nice weather is one of my favourite things to do. And I hate it when I'm not able to!

3. Fresh air - linked to the first two, but you can't beat getting outside for some fresh air, especially when you've been cooped up inside all day at work.

Green Belts - with the exception of high wind or t storms days, I am outside walking our trails. In fact, I ended up in the middle of the Texas Marathon on New Year’s Day that happened to overlap with some of my route. Today, I hit the trails and went 13.14 miles… just because I can and it was nice outside.

Wildlife- I was reminded of a nice man I met the other day. He was running the marathon and his running pace was fairly close to my walking pace. In any event, we met because he stopped to save a small turtle that had wandered onto the trail during the race and it led to a 1.5 mile conversation about all of the wildlife in our neighborhood.

People- Not that I stop and have conversations with most but I have my regulars and I just enjoy that little hi and wave to everyone I see outside. It sort of restores my faith in humanity. I don’t get that by walking in the gym. I mean, people do still stop to talk to me for whatever reasons but I prefer it outside as I’m not captive on a treadmill when it happens.

I will be seconding many things:
1. SUNSHINE and WARM WEATHER and WARM TEMPERATURES
2. Trees 🌳🌴🌲
3. Flowers 🌸 🌹
4. Animals
5. Beaches and Oceans and Mountains
6. Campfires with DH
7. My daily walks when it's not 40s and below

The only thing I appreciate about winter is that it eventually goes away.
