Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Another vote for food leftovers! - I love not having to cook (or even just being able to concentrate on one part of the second meal instead if coordinating everything at once.)

Leftover craft supplies is also a big one for me. - I love finding creative ways to use up bits and pieces!

Our compost bin. I'm grateful I can throw peelings in there and be rewarded with nice soil to grow something next summer.

Wrapping paper- Several years ago, Kroger was selling these massive rolls. I bought 3-4 of them. I finally started using the last of those leftover rolls this year. I wrapped over 40 gifts this year…some of which were quite large…and I still have enough leftover paper from this mega roll to wrap another 5-10 gifts.

Baking/decorating ingredients- it’s always nice to have a little or a lot left over for the next project…whether it’s sprinkles, fondant or candy melts to more useful things like unsalted butter and heavy cream.

Time - It’s always nice when things aren’t as time consuming as you anticipated and you’re given the luxury of a little leftover time to relax or get something else done.

Leftover pasta always tastes so good the next day.

I like the answer leftover time. Today I finished transferring all birthdays and other important info from 2025 calendars to 2026 and since I usually don’t start this until January 1st, I now have some extra time for other things. (Like gathering tax info) :)

My DH and I have been trying to eat less at dinner and one of the benefits is having more leftovers!

So will you be watching New Year's Day to see what company wants your tax business.....there won't be any left over Christmas commercials.... just the Coke commercial

Inspired by the fact that both "holidays" today are made up of two words that start with the same letter:

Today's Topic (Mon, 12/29) - 3 alliterative things you're grateful for

Omg i’ve done these things for hours every night giving my daughter her bath because her ears were really messed up in an impacted her speech so she had to do speech therapy in order to get her to do it I got a book on tongue twisters and I made it into a game that we played every night when I was giving her her bath sort of a challenge to see if I could get her to do them because I would say them and try to get her to beat me and being able to do them and that’s how I got her to do hers her speech therapy because if I sat her down and try to get her to speech therapy that was not going to work so I pretended every night when I gave her her bath because she was quite little she was only two that we were having games doing tongue twisters and it worked out really well because she would play along with the game trying to beat me doing these tongue twisters and this book got progressively harder on the tongue twisters 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It’s a very fun memory I have and she was quite a bit older before I let her in on this little secret and it was really her speech therapy that we were doing every night to help her since her speech was impacted so bad by her ears being so bad She has beautiful speech now oh thanks too tongue toasters those things playing in my head nonstop Sally selling seashells by the seashore that one’s pretty long by the way there’s a lot of verses to it

I swear my father was an expert on these things he could spout them off no problem and did it all the time

Some common ones that I use that I can put in here on this board

Good gravy
Good grief
Dead as doornails
Busy bees

Good Monday Morning Friends

#1 - FREAKY FRIDAY - I can’t stand that movie, but it was the first thing that popped into my head.

#2 - BUSY BEE - Another mention for this, because I do say this.

#3 - WINDY WEATHER - Which is what it is here today. Very strong winds today.

I love alliteration!

We have friends who gave their daughters alliterative names, to honor the girls' paternal grandmother- the youngest is Sally Sue, which has become Silly Sally Sue over the years- and to continue the alliteration, their last name starts with an "S"!

Rubber baby buggy bumpers. A favorite tongue twister of mine when I was a kid, mostly because I COULD say it, repeatedly, quickly, and correctly.

Bob's Burgers, Mickey Mouse, West Wing, Dunkin Donuts. I'm not sure I consider two words starting with the same letter to be an alliteration, but technically they are.

Cozy Cone - From the Cars movie franchise and Carsland at DLR
Shake Shack - I can take or leave their food but I always have fun saying their name
Duran Duran (or Duran Duranies...as fans) - Probably my biggest fave of the 80s.
