Three Things...Gratitude Thread

My brain initially blended this with yesterday's E theme and I was thinking Emus and Elephants! 🤣

1. Snakes - I know some are afraid and I get it. I have this insane fear of spiders that's on par with some people's snake fears. Still, they are some of the most beneficial creatures we've got (minus the infestation in the Everglades). They are nature's pest control. I'm in a Facebook snake group that helps educate people on identifying venomous vs. non-venomous, behavioral considerations, coloration anomalies, and gentle ways to shoo them away without putting you or the snake in danger.

We can see western diamondbacks and timbers here...as far as rattlesnakes go (and maybe a couple of other far less common ones), but cottonmouths, copperheads, and corals are our usual suspects when it comes to spotting venomous snakes. That being said, most of what I normally see are harmless plain bellied water snakes, Dekays brown snakes, and rough earth snakes. I would really like to see a hognose. Common here, but I never see them.

I am not a dog person, but I am very grateful for them because my granddaughter loves them! She has a golden at her dad’s house and whenever she sees a dog, she asks the person walking them if she can pet them.

Even though we have been pet-free in this house for many years, we used to have cats and I loved every single one of them. All different personalities and most of them very smart. ;)

I love all the animal paths at AK and can spend hours watching the otters, Komodo dragon, gorillas, birds, tigers, prairie dogs, even the bats! And my greatest joy staying at Kidani was seeing a giraffe stroll by while we were unpacking.

Happy Saturday

To narrow down 3 chocolate things I’m grateful for seems almost impossible, but here it goes….

#1 - CHOCOLATE CANNED ICING - I love love love chocolate icing out of a plastic can from the grocery store. I can eat it by the spoonful, but I don’t (yeah, right :rolleyes2:lmao:)

#2 - ALDI’S 85% DARK CHOCOLATE - I eat a 1/2 piece every night after dinner. I have a few packages in the house 100% of the time. Supposedly any dark chocolate over 75% is supposed to be good for you.

#3 - CHOCOLATE BARK - I’m always grateful to have this for my chocolate melter at Christmas time. It’s less expensive than buying bags of chocolate chips and since I melt a lot of chocolate at Christmas time, that’s a good thing.
