Three Things...Gratitude Thread

FOUR things? Kicking it up a notch here! (JK- since most of us seem to have a lot of things usually, this is fine!)

Arthur- Both the PBS kids show and the movie with Dudley Moore.

Afternoons- long, lazy summer afternoons, with warm breezes gently blowing, outside on the deck with friends, a grill, and some sangria.

Asparagus- I've always liked asparagus, even when I was a kid and my mom used canned asparagus. She'd butter toast, put the asparagus on it, and then pour some of the can water over it. Sloppy mess, but the taste of my childhood. These days I use fresh in a variety of ways: Pan-seared with garlic and lemon or asian style in peanut oil, garlic, and ginger, oven roasted, done on the grill, etc.

Algebra- no criticism, please! I love figuring out equations, and I love the fact that I finally learned HOW to do this.

Good morning :)

Definitely angels especially Gabriel and human angels such as my friend S. Amazon, is handy, too.

A, my kind regular CNA who goes above and beyond always.

Dad and I God willing before the end of next year will enjoy a very special Disneyland trip. A Mart is a fun souvenir store near the Candy Cane Inn.

Applesauce from Sprouts is healthy and so tasty too.

Ooh 4 things...

1. Audi - my car, and I wouldnt be able to go anywhere without it. And I'm grateful too for its size, speed and how cheap it is to run when I charge it at home.

2.  Airplanes - without them I'd be stuck in England so am super grateful for all the holidays I've been on thanks to them.

3. Alton Towers - my favourite theme park in the UK and fortunately close enough to visit in a day. Haven't been for a while but hoping to make it back there this year after the summer holidays!

4. Animal Biscuits - Cadburys Animal Biscuits have been a favourite of mine since childhood, along with their Christmas version Festive Friends that have since been discontinued. Biscuits with a layer of Cadburys chocolate at the bottom, they're incredibly moreish.

@leebee, I love your post!
I will agree with Alaska! Cruises to Alaska are my favorite ones!
I also agree with Algebra! I was a math teacher, and I love to see the light go on in so many students eyes when they get it!
Asparagus, yes! It’s a perennial vegetable. I was most successful growing it in our Yardley, PA,Bucks county home. Even asparagus haters came to like the ones I brought into school to share.

For years and years, even through college and much of my professional life, I was fudging it when it came to math. THEN I taught one-on-one or small group math to 2-8th grade special ed and really, really came to understand what I was doing. Like with any game, you just need to know the rules!

ALASKA

The blessings 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

Little Diomede island
At one time I was related to the most Western living Hispanic on the continent...then she moved. She taught school in living conditions worst than north Pole... they can only land Chinook helicopters. But her glaucoma was causing issues so she moved further south to another island

2015 Yukon Gold Rush .my niece moved to an island that was a jump off point for historical gold rush... and the miners threw their trash into the River....glass mason jars specifically thick for travel... the 🫙 🫙 🫙 broke and for 100 years polished on the black grit sand storm movement

Boredom Alaska blessing.....my sister went to great expenses to fly to the island with food and essentials ...so while daughter was teaching she went to the beach and began picking up the aqua blue bits of glass and that was the beginning of an Alaska gold rush for our family and f a jewelry business that provides finical resources for travel Alaska expenses and a small source of income for myself and other two sisters as we sold her jewelry nation wide...2025 the daughter and her 2 adopted first Nation children are now stateside because of her health...alas global warming has covered the beaches so there is no longer access and island government has closed the island border unless prepared to kill a polar bear

Not from Alaska, but still grateful for it.

Auroras (can be seen from Alaska and also start with "A").
The "26 Glacier Tour" - a daytime boat ride in Alaska
Denali National Park - will be even more grateful when the park road fully re-opens so I can see the rest of it! Have any of you ridden on the full length of that road before the landslide shut it down at Mile 43?

Other letter "A" things:

Animal Kingdom theme park
astronomy
appreciation
air conditioning (also on a recent list for some of us)
