Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Yesterday -

The scissors that inspired the topic - I have a pair in every pencil cup in the house, plus one in my car.

I also second jar openers - I have this vintage baby:

and it's amazing! It has far outlasted the can opener it came with as a "bonus gift."

And for my third - chip clips! I just got a new pack of especially cute ones, and we use them all the time.

Today's Topic (Sat, 12/28) - 3 chocolate 🍫 things you're grateful for

(If you don't like chocolate, please substitute a different flavor.)

Happy Saturday Everyone

#1 - Aldi’s 85% Dark Chocolate Bars - I have a 1/2 of a piece every night after dinner (a whole piece is pretty big)

#2 - Dark Chocolate Nonpariels - I have a small amount on Sunday night as we watch TV

#3 - Fannie May Meltaways - I only have these at Christmas and I like them cold. There’s a box in the fridge now.

CHOCOLATE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
OMG
If ever there was a food addiction mine would be chocolate I can avoid almost anything and not eat it except chocolate I could literally not eat at all except chocolate I can go days and not eat but if there’s chocolate anywhere around me I will not be able to avoid eating it even if it’s something chocolate then I don’t care for with one exception if it’s hazelnut because I can’t stand hazelnut that would be the only chocolate that I will not eat ever but just about anything else chocolate I’ll eat it so if you have any of those chocolate hazelnut things they’re safe with me otherwise do not leave your chocolate anywhere near me I will eat it pretty much guilt free🤣🤣🙄🙄

My chocolate coffee I have it every day at times I’ve had to pay dearly for my bags of chocolate coffee but boy when they put that on sale I stock up so grateful for my chocolate coffee I currently have 12 bags in my pantry because they had a sale and I ordered 20 bags it was a really good sale

Reese’s peanut butter cups - I prefer the thick ones like the trees or the extra king size cups or the valentine hearts or the pumpkins any of them that are really thick
So they decided they would start mixing these with different things and the only thing they’ve mixed them with that I am absolutely in love with is potato chips Reese’s peanut butter cups with potato chips are amazingly good

Chocolate covered potato chips they’re hard to find which is probably a good thing because I could eat my weight in those like double!!

Chocolate covered pretzels I can eat my weight in those also

Caramel apples covered in chocolate covered in Reese‘s peanut butter cups I usually make one every year it’s the size of a Buick takes me two days to eat it and it is so delicious!! Takes a whole six pack of Reese’s peanut butter cups and then give you some idea of how much is on it that’s how much is on one apple it’s one big green apple !! 🍏

Chocolate covered cherries love them

Ande Mints love them

Snickers love them

Chocolate and caramel next best thing to chocolate and peanut butter delicious

I could be here all day telling you all the chocolate candy I love but I think you get the idea

I’m very grateful for chocolate I try not to keep it at my house I did buy some for the holidays twice it doesn’t last her long around me and I do not share my chocolate I will buy you your own candy but please don’t ask me to share my candy I will not
That’s why I bought you your own candy
And that is why I do not keep chocolate in my house because I cannot resist eating it

Hm. Not a huge chocolate fan. However...
Chocolate Colby Cake. It's an old family recipe, given to us by Mrs. Colby, who was my grandmother's (great grandmothers?) neighbor. It is the best from-scratch chocolate cake I've ever had. I am not a chocolate fan, and I'll ask for this cake for my birthday or a special occasion dessert. Yes, it's that good!

Candy? Lindt white chocolate balls, or right now I'm having a love affair with their white chocolate peppermint balls. Also Ghirardelli milk chocolate/white chocolate peppermint candies. Runner up in the 'chocolate' candy department is Reese's pieces (which don't have chocolate in them...)

Stash's chocolate mint tea. Once again, not really chocolate, but it's really good!

Good Sunday Morning

#1 - Elliptical - I’ve owned an elliptical for many many years. When COVID happened, and I couldn’t go to the gym anymore, I bought a new and updated elliptical and I used it all the time. I don’t use it much anymore since I’m back to the gym, but when I do, I always say before I get on…..hello old friend.

#2 - Eves - as in Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. They are always a wonderful time with family and friends.

#3 - Exit - The Exit Sign at Animal Kingdom to be specific. My DD21 is not a fan of AK and is always happy when it’s time to leave. I took this picture last trip and I will now chuckle every time I see this sign. In fact, I think I may always have her take a picture by this sign every trip we go together now - LOL!

Ha ha I thought I was the only person in the world that was not a fan of the animal kingdom glad to know there’s somebody else I love animals don’t get me wrong but I have a World Class zoo right here at my hometown And other than that and one ride there in the park holds nothing for me I can’t ride roller coasters that Dino ride is just too whipping for me bothers my neck and it’s so darn loud tough to be a bug adorable but they’re getting rid of that I’m running out of things there that I care to go see or do so most of the time I don’t even bother with it I used to love to go there to go shopping because they had beautiful African things to buy not so much anymore but the animal Kingdom lodge is one of my most favorite properties❤️❤️ and I love the restaurants there!!

Envelopes I am grateful for envelopes all different sizes especially the weird ones I love envelopes I like to keep a wide range of sizes in different kinds of envelopes I prefer the self sticking kind I prefer getting them from work🤣🤣 but I’m very grateful for they help keep me organized on a whole host of things

Eyes minor and horrible shape thanks to the medication I took I have macular degeneration I pray every day that I will not end up blind they are hopeful that I won’t but the medication will still impact me for the next 10 years even though I’m no longer taking it so my eyes have remained at a status quo Not happy where they’re at but I am not blind so I am very grateful for that because they’re bad enough but I am not blind at times I feel like I am I own several magnifying glasses and use them quite frequently I almost wear my readers nonstop and I own several pairs I have them planted all over the place Sadly my eyes said what was been too bad even before this happened to get corrective surgery never knew that was a thing but it is but thankfully I can still work glasses or contacts and see fairly well and I can still drive so blessedly I’m grateful that I am still Seeing well enough to drive I do not drive at night because I don’t feel like I can see well enough to drive at night so I don’t do it but I am still blessed that I can see

Energy - where will we be without energy whether it’s our own energy to get up and do something or the energy we use to heat our house cooler house to fuel our appliances our lights etc. I’m very grateful for energy my own and this energy I use in my every day life !! I do not feel like being off the grid type of person that is just not me I’m more the four star hotel type of person🤣🤣🤣🙄🙄🙄

I have to revert back to the candy question. Since developing type 2 diabetes I've not been able to enjoy candy and sweets. I found Russel Stovers makes a selection of candies that are all sweetened with stevia. I was worried about the after taste and all the things I've heard about the negative taste aspects of stevia but I can't even tell this isn't normal candy. I get the dark chocolate varieties and really am glad I get to enjoy a sweet treat every now and again.

This one makes me think of one of our nieces. She and DH are both bacon lovers, and for years have picked up unusual little things for each other that tie into that - bacon flavored chapstick, bacon themed birthday cards... you get the idea. So, two options for:

Today's Topic (Mon, 12/30) - 3 ways you're grateful for bacon
..........~~ OR ~~
3 inside jokes or fun little things you share with a family member or friend.

Bacon flavor chapstick ?? Wow

Huge fan of bacon!! I don’t eat it very often because I hate cooking it but I do love it very grateful for it!!

One of the craziest things I saw was a bloody Mary with a huge piece of sugared bacon in it thank you to the California Grill for that I was very grateful for that!! That bloody Mary was like a meal!!

Bacon wrapped pork chops delicious !!! Bacon wrapped chicken delicious bacon wrapped anything in the beef department delicious I’m grateful that bacon is a very versatile food that I can wrap around just about anything including some vegetables and it’s absolutely delicious!!

I have had bacon on a doughnut before I can’t say I liked it can’t say I disliked it I’m grateful I got to try it!!

Sugar bacon is one of my favorites I will not make it but I will get it if I see it offered somewhere I’m very grateful somebody else will do it!!

I am very grateful for bacon but like I said I don’t eat it very often but if it’s offered I will have some I preferred over sausage not that there’s anything wrong with sausage I’ll just pick bacon every time
