Three Things...Gratitude Thread

:grouphug:Kimkimba and all of you who have experienced March loss.

1 Champ was born way back in 1989 on March 10th. God brought him into my life and that of my family 2 months later. Memories of my loving and smart dog and our belief that he is at eternal peace bring both my dad and I much cheer.

2 Spring and longer days for sure! Closer to Summer, too. I am so ready for some truly 🌞days. Spring is my favorite season. Easter and time of renewal in general.

2 Spring training. ⚾I'm not all that into baseball anymore but dad enjoys Dodger games as do some friends. I definitely keep in prayer being able to surprise dad one day post Covid with a special trip to Dodger Stadium.

Springy Lambs 🐑

Small Salted Caramel Lindt eggs in stores. 😋

I’ve missed a few:

Places:
1. Home—the place I am most comfortable.
2. Work—I work with DH and it is just the two of us. It’s our business and building so like a second home, just not quite as comfortable, but as comfortable as work can be.
3. Disney of course.

People in extended family:
1. Lots of aunts, great aunts, female cousins, teachers and neighbors who I used as role models growing up. My mom could be difficult at times and I knew I wanted to be different. I intentionally watched other women to see how they handled situations and tried to model myself after those I liked the best in certain roles.
2. Godmother—she’s supportive and funny and always interested in me and my family. I called her “Aunt first name” but she’s actually a cousin in my parents generation.
3. Neighbors—they are my village.

March:
1. The first signs of spring—my daffodils and Irises are peaking out so it won’t be too long now.
2. Spring Break—both of my college girls will be home for at least a few days this month.
3. Lots and lots of volleyball—gone three of the four weekends this month.

I’m not a rhyming person per say but have been known to do it throughout my day

I’ve have always liked those little phrases -

See you later Alligator - After awhile Crocodile

You Snooze You Lose

Put the Petal to the Metal

Shop until you Drop

I can’t wait to read everyone’s answers because I know there are hundreds of these we say all the time without even thinking about them !! I like these as they can be Nearest and Dearest to me everyday !!

As an fyi - on tongue twisters ( alliterative things ) my youngest DD has ear issues since birth so that in turn caused speech delay / issues - we were instructed to do tongue twisters - so to make it not be like school work - I did these as a game at bath time - who could do it better - always trying to allow her to win - let me tell you that book had some tough ones in there but what great fun we had and fond memories we made ! We both still talk about the months we spent doing this and she was much older before she found out what I was really up to with the tongue twisters !
I really do like those things as they are fun to try and say 3 times 🤣👍

1) Throwback Thursdays on Instagram - love seeing old pictures

2) Shop till you Drop - especially at Disney, I love the shopping; or up in the mountains, I love the general stores

3) Dunkin’ Donuts - a staple where I live. I saw a funny video this morning of a man cleaning of the snow on his car with one bare hand and holding up a Dunkin’ ice coffee in the other, lol. Typical for this area! (I can’t remember if he was wearing shorts or not, but that would not be unusual in winter here, either.)

Such pretty daffodils, Tink-ospophy, thank you for that burst of afternoon sunshine. Aww to Spring-y 🐑

3 rhyming or alliterative things you're grateful for are hard for me, too!

I do sometimes also say "See You Later, Alligator."
Grandma once had a stuffed animal monkey she named Cocoa Loco, lol.
