Ashley, Desirea, Melody and I were at WDW from the May 28 - June 6. We had a great time and hopefully the girls will have memories to last a long time.
First a bit on the resorts - We spent our first night at All Star Music at a wonderful AP rate, them moved to Contemporary NGW for three nights on SOG rates. Finally we spent five glorious nights at Boardwalk Villas where Disney magic worked its spell with a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful one bedroom (3027)! It faced the Swan/Dolphin and was quite a walk from the lobby elevators but so quiet and spacious. I have a special thanks to make to the kind DVC member who rented points to me at such a good price! The NGW at the Contemporary is looking worn and the noise level at night in our room (8317) was unbearable. There were nights when the noise in the hall forced us to put pillows over our heads so we could get to sleep. It was still noisy at 2am one night! I think Motel 6 has as much soundproofing around the doors of their rooms. Our room at Music was fine especially for the price. We had great service at all three resorts and the luggage moves were relatively painless.
Transportation - American Airlines was ontime but separated us on both legs both coming and going. They tried to put us back together but it didn't work very well. Not sure why this happened as I THOUGHT I had arranged seats! Flawless performance from FLTOURS. Picked us up exactly on time, grocery stop was fine and the discount card saved quite a lot. They called to confirm return and again timing was exactly right. I will use them again - and soon. Used ferry, monorail, busses on property. Agree that the bus to Swan, Dolphin, Yacht, Beach and Boardwalk was extremely crowded most of the time and took quite a while to make the entire round. Also used Lynx bus #50 to and from SeaWorld, it was great and SO cheap.
Parks - We did them all in 7 days plus a day at Blizzard Beach. Only disappointment was rain on the night we'd planned to do FITS and Spectro. Used TourGuide Mike's advice and buzzed past lines everywhere. Loved E-Ride Night, we rode everything more than once! This was the girls first visit and they were a bit overwhelmed but game for everything. Enjoyed the pools and boywatching at the resorts too!
Food issue - One of the girls has PKU so we did some prior planning with the executive chefs at two of the parks where we'd planned sitdown dinners. We had one hitch at H&V for our Fantasmic dinner package but the chef and staff more than made up for the problem. Plus the exec. chefs provided me with protein content on several items available at counter service places. We brought a lot of her special food along and had few problems.
Final thoughts - The planning was worth it. I think the girls got enough time to see and ride what they wanted and also some play and downtime. We walked to MK from Contemporary, to Epcot and Studios from BoardWalk. It was wonderful and so easy! Star Wars weekends were in progress and we caught the beginnings of Gay Days but the crowds were fine. We saw "Finding Nemo" at Pleasure Island on opening day in one of the really good theaters. What fun!
Thanks to everyone for the great ideas and suggestions I've gained from here!
