Three questions: Please help
We are going to WDW in April. We will be a party of 10, seven adult, two children age 7 and a 2 year old.
Would we be considered a grand gathering even theough the youngest is 2 and doen't have to pay for the dining plan or park tickets? I was conidering trying to book Tony's Town Square breakfast as a Grand gathering but I wasn't sure if we were eligible due to the two year old.
Another question, I have to book on October 27, if I book ADRs on-line and when I include the two year so that he will have a seat-will they charge me for him for reservations that require a credit card?
One last question: we are booked as two seperate reservations. I haven't added the dining plan yet because I'm deciding between deluxe or regular plan. I want make sure I can get the reservations I want before I decide. My daughter has booked the regular dining plan will she be able to book for all of us since her reservation already has the dining plan added or do I have to add the plan before I book?THANKS!!! :)

A grand gathering is 8 or more, so yes you qualify ;)

Not sure about the credit card booking. But when you make a reservation that requires a credit card, its just a 'hold' isn't it? So I don't think it matters. :confused3

But your last question: I recently made dining reservations for myself and a few other parties-12 in total- under my reservation.
You don't HAVE to be on the dining plan to make a dining reservation.
And like I recently found out- you can make dining reservations for as many people as you want, and link it to your resort reservation.

We are paying out of pocket for CRT and we have 4 adults and three kids ( 2,3, and 5 yrs old). I booked and paid this in July. They will not charge your credit card for the 2 year old.

A Grand Gathering is eight or more people Age 3 and up staying in Disney owned and operated resorts. It can be augmented with people not staying at Disney Resorts (as I am sometimes added to a friend or relative's GG group) as long as at least 80% of the people are staying at a Disney Resort.

And for each GG-specific event the number of people again must be at least both 8 and 80% staying at a Disney Resort.

so 6.4 people in a party of 8 need to be staying on property lol
In op's case, the 2 year old is the 10th person- there are 9 above 3 years old, so you will be fine :thumbsup2

No. There must be at least 8 people age 3 or older staying in a Disney Owned and Operated Resort. There may be additional people added but the minimum still remains 8 people and 80% of the group. People under 3 are not counted as part of the GG. So if the group is 9 or 10 people you still must have 8 staying; if the group is 11 or 12 people you must have 9 staying, etc.

When reservations are made for a GG meal (or other experience) the 8 person and 80% rules still applies. A person less than 3 has to be included in the reservation for space purposes, but is not considered in any other count as there is no charge.

OP, hope you don't mind but I am going to hijack this thread and ask another question about Grand Gatherings since we are doing one in Nov 2010.

We have a total of 12 people, however 4 of the 12 will not be vacationing as long as the other 8. Those four are also staying at another Disney owned resort than the other eight guests. Can they still have our grand gatherings # added to their reservations? :confused3
I will be making reservations for us to do Tony's Breakfast also!

Thanks!

As long as all are staying at Disney Owned and Operated Resorts (including DVC) there is no problem. It gets complicated only when you have some people staying at the Disney Resorts and others off-property or at the non-Disney resorts.
