Hi all,

I'm coming down for a conference in a couple of weeks and I can get a discounted ticket for $55 that will give admission to UOF from 6pm to 9pm on the 25th. I am trying to decide if it is worth it. I am going solo and I have been a couple of times already and would enjoy going but I figure I'd be too rushed during that time to do to much. I'm trying to figure out if it would be busy or not.

Oh I should also say that I will be visiting again for a second conference in late September and I have two full days in the park then.

I am planning on going to Citywalk one other evening and I could just do that a second night if I decide not to go into the actual park.

Would you just do a second night on Citywalk, or would you pay the money and do a couple of rides grab and grab a bite to eat.

Thanks for any opinions.

i could not be that close to the parks and not go to them.......

3 hours is better than not going at all.

it would be like paying $18 an hour for having some fun......

use the SRL when open and make a tenative plan on what you would like to see.
dont forget to buy the lards lad pink donut on the way out of the park......

Do you have to decide ahead? Or is the ticket available once on-site?

Personally, I'd wait until I was on-site to make the decision. Especially with having two days in September. Some conferences leave me eager to get out and do something in the evening, while others have me wanting a drink or two and a quiet evening.

If I did have energy and desire to go, I'd try to find things to do that I didn't typically do. Like see the fireworks - never done that at UO. Try a new-to-me restaurant or bar. Something that would make that 3 hours not feel like a "shortened version" of what a full day might be like.

3 hours alone should be easy. I would hit all my favorite attractions and watch the evening show. Universal is so pretty at night.

What hotel will you be in? If RPR you will be eligible for free express pass. That will help you get more accomplished in 3 hrs.

thanks everyone. I am staying off site down by the convention centre and I do think I need to decide before.

Right now I'm sitting at about 50/50 for going in.

Caved in and bought the ticket. :)

Not to be a wet blanket but be prepared to spend some of that time in the security line.

If possible I'd time it to be @ the garage/taxi drop off before 5 pm...if not earlier to grab a bite to eat in citiwalk.

That's a good idea and who knows if the conference looks like it is winding down maybe I'll be able to duck over early and I can see if I can upgrade the ticket for extra hours.

I think it was pretty much a foregone conclusion when you decided that the group to advise the best course of action was a forum full of Universal fans. ;)
You never know. I was thinking it might be too much of a rushed evening and maybe someone would say so. I'm glad no one did. I'm looking forward to some Butter beer.
