THREE for the Price of One -Farewell to a PTR, for now!

It is VERY hard to believe our babies are almost 3! Since we arrive in Disney the day after Henry turns 3, he requires his own AP and we'll have to pay at buffets....it stinks! He is almost 40 inches tall, I'm hoping he reaches it by the time we go so he can ride Soarin'! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you are busy, but have things under control. I really gotta get started on a packing list or something myself!

Oh man!! One day!! That does stink!!

Jack Jack is 37 inches tall. Don't think he's gonna make it by next week! :rotfl:

Love packing lists! Making mine today. Didn't get around to it on Sunday. :rolleyes1

Can't wait to hear if Henry's tall enough to ride Soarin' and if so, what he thinks of it. Dash was 4 when he went to WDW the first time, so I don't have a lot of experience with them at the age where they are just tall enough to ride the 40" rides.

:banana::cool1::banana::cool1: Single Digit Dancing!!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

You aren't kidding about the summer going by WAY too fast!!! I actually have 3 days of professional development next week and then return to work on the 9th! WOW!!! Although I'm excited to get back into the classroom, I am very nervous too LOL!!!!!

I'm very excited to hear all about your trip!! Can't wait!!

Can't believe your professional development and start day are soooooooo soon!! OMgosh Jen!! Where did our summer go?! I'm glad you're excited about going back but totally understand your nervousness. I think you're gonna love love love it!! :goodvibes

Wow, seems like this trip came up fast! Happy single digits!! :woohoo:

It snuck on me too, but now time is crawwwwwwwwwwwling.
Figures eh?

Happenings:

I just checked in online for our stay at the Poly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooooo excited. I did a little :yay: in my chair.

About to drag out my red e-bag bag and see what all I can fit in there. Such a difference 7 months makes as far as I what all I need to take in the park for Jack-Jack.

Got the rental car set up for our departure day so we can drive to Jacksonville. Ran into a few hiccups with only wanting to use a debit card and needing a one way rental. Got it all worked out finally! And get this... the reason that Enterprise let us do a one way rental (I had been told two weeks ago no one way rentals to Jacksonville at all) was because I called the location on property not the general Enterprise number and the guy made an exception only because we're staying on Disney property!! Another perk of staying on propety AND another reason to call the location directly. It never hurts. :thumbsup2

I'm about to put all my ADR confirmation numbers and hotel confirmation number into my phone. Gonna try that method this time and pray I don't lose my phone. I set a reminder for my airline check in for SW and to call Enterprise and set up our pick up time. Both in my phone. I'm nervous!! I've always been a pen and paper kinda girl before, but it's toooo easy to use the reminder function on my phone. I'm tempted to download the Verizon Magic something something app for WDW wait times, character location, etc... anyone have any experience with it? Would it be worth it for just one day in the park?

I'm realllllllllllllllllllly jonesing for another day in the park. :confused3 The closer it gets here the more I want to do more! I'm trying to refrain. Wait and see how crowded and hot and miserable it is. I'm checking TGM all the time, like the forecast of green, yellow and red are gonna change, which they aren't.

There are no green options for Epcot or DHS on any of the days we could go. I just don't know if I want to spend another $200 for a miserably hot, ridiculously crowded day. We could stay and go in the park on Friday (green Epcot day) and get into MIL's late but I just can't do that to her... we're only gonna be there 3 nights as it is. Need to spend as much time with her as possible.

So for now... I'm leaving it alone. No changes. Just tempations!!

Will try to take pictures of the chaos of packing as it unfolds... or folds as I hope is the case. ;)

Wow, you're leaving so soon! :cool1:

I'm so excited for you...the Poly! :lovestruc

Have fun packing and doing all those little last-minute things!

Let's see those pictures of packing chaos!

Can't wait to read about the trip!

Isn't it awesome that as our boys get older we need less and less gear? Henry isn't potty trained yet (haven't even tried!), but I'm thinking I might attempt in August and IF he's done by September, we'd need even less!!! Just the thought of that encourages me to try potty training! :rotfl:

I would love the idea of everything in the phone, so handy and quick! My phone is a very basic one, so I don't even get texts. :lmao: I'm hoping for an upgrade in August! You can loose your phone just as easily as your paper/pen in the past...so hopefully you won't! :goodvibes

If you do just make sure you have an emergency pee pee container for rides on the monorail :rolleyes1 :lmao:

It's all Brook's fault...

I'm just sayin'!

After reading her New Year's Eve Poly Beach Fireworks trip report portion..... I've been kicking myself in the tush for booking Ohana so late. When we could just eat before hand and then watch the fireworks from the beach instead of hoping for a window table in Ohana. So I've been trying to get an earlier Ohana dinner ressie for Tuesday. But to no avail. Everything before 9:30 has been booked!

Until just now!!!

:cool1:  :cheer2:

We are now eating at 8:10pm instead of 9:30pm with fireworks starting at 10pm. I think we can get done in time to get out to the beach, but I don't wanna rush either. Worse case we'll just stay in Ohana like we originally planned. But at least we have a chance! You'd think staying at Poly we'd have lots of opportunities to watch the fireworks from the beach, but this night was the only one. Go figure!

Still haven't drug the suitcase out of the garage yet. Did think about the boys' raincoats though. Need to make sure we pack those. Our forecast for next week is looking like highs in the low 90s each day with a chance of Isolated Thunderstorms everyday. 30-40% chance of rain on the days we're there, with a 60% chance on the day we're leaving.

Thanks Dugette!!! *happy dreamy sigh* POLY!!!

Let's see those pictures of packing chaos!

Can't wait to read about the trip!

Will get those pics out soon!! As soon as the packing begins, that is. :rotfl:

This last week is gonna fly by for you! So exciting!

I sure hope it does. It's that weird, time is crawling and zooming at the same time. Only before vacation does this strange anomaly happen! :lmao:

I'm in that weird boat of can't wait til he's trained v. not wanting him to grow up too fast. We're working on it some, but honestly I didn't want him in the middle of full blow training while we're there in August. I'm hoping to have it done before our December trip. But definitely looking forward to not having to worry about wipes and diapers in the park bag!! Takes up half the room I swear! Good luck trying!!

I'm excited about it being in my phone. Already updated the conf# for the new Ohana time. And you're right... I could lose the paper and pen too! Just paranoid! Good luck on getting your phone upgrade in August. I love love love my Droid!

If you do just make sure you have an emergency pee pee container for rides on the monorail :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Oh my! :lmao: Good point!

How about a plastic Disney shopping bag?

:lmao::rotfl: Oh, that incident was TOO funny!

I'm thinking I'm missing some back story! Fill me in or point me in the TR direction!

:cool1: YAY!! Congrats on getting an earlier POLY ressie! I can't wait to hear all about watching WISHES from the Poly Beach!

I can't wait to tell you all about it!!! I was super excited I got it. I've been trying for a while. WOOT!

:yay: for single digits.

How was on line check in? Was it easy to do? I've always wanted to try it.

YAY for single digits!! 5 days now!

Online check in is super easy. Very straightforward form to fill out online. There is a spot for room requests but it's a place where you can just check 2 of these 4options... fridge in the room, ground floor, close to transportation and pack n play in the room. I didn't check any because I had called and put a more specific request in a few months back. I did online check in for AKL in January and it was super quick and easy. You walk up to the counter, give them your name and they hand you your folder with all your keys, info and a marked map to your room #. It went so fast in January I didn't even have time to wonder if I would get our room request. But we did. :thumbsup2 Hoping to get our request this time too! We requested Samoa longhouse, quiet pool side. We'll see!! :hyper:

I've read some people that say it's not any faster, because sometimes they have more people working the regular check in line than the online check in desk. I can see where that could be the case in some circumstances. I just like knowing that I'm already checked in!! :yay: And since we are getting in so late Monday night, I figure the less time we have to stand at a check in desk, the better! We'll be ready to get to our room and try to make it to Captain Cooks before the flatbread station closes at 1am!

I'm thinking I'm missing some back story! Fill me in or point me in the TR direction!

It was from my December TR, you must have missed that update - so funny and so gross! It's at the very beginning of this post.

Congrats on getting the earlier 'Ohana ressie! :woohoo:

:yay: for getting the earlier 'Ohana ressie! I think that will work out well. My only advice (as you may remember from "Sand is Bad!") is hang onto your camera!

Hope you get your room request at the Poly. Seems like that would be a good location.

I doubt you'll have a wait to check in at the resort that late at night. We've arrived about the same time on two of our trips and had only a minute or two wait. The only thing to watch out for is the crowd from the ME bus. Be in front of it, if possible.

Oh, I wish I was going to Disney soon! Can't wait to hear about your trip, though...hope it's magical! pixiedust:

You guys...... I'm seriously jonesing for an Epcot fix. I'm so conflicted. The only green day for Epcot while we are there is the one green day for MK while we're there. I considered doing Epcot on a yellow day but Mr. I really is looking forward to the taking it slow and relax idea and doesn't want to go in the park two days. As hard as he's been working lately, I can't blame him AT ALL!

And my mom has mentioned on more than one occasion how glad she is that this trip is going to be taking it easy as opposed to pushing it the whole time.

So really... I think I have to leave things the way they are and be thankful that I'll be back at Christmas! I could switch Epcot out for MK and not go to MK at all. But the idea of not going to MK killllllllllllllllllls me. It's my happy place even if Epcot is my favorite park. I know, I'm weird.

For now, I'm leaving it alone. But ooooooooooooo so tempted!!!!

I dug out a few more things for the To Be Packed pile. Some sun visors of mine... one of which I bought at Disney back in 05 that says So NOT a Princess with a pic of Tinkerbell on it. :rotfl: And another generic one that I don't care if it gets wet in the pool.

I located Jack Jack's Wall E rainjacket I bought the boys for our January trip. I bought them big so they still fit! :thumbsup2 And apparently Dash left his at his Dad's a few weeks ago, so I've texted his dad to help him remember to bring it home this weekend.

Poor Mr. I is outside mowing the yard after working 5am - 6pm today. Poooor guy. But it's literally the last chance he has to do the yard before we leave. And with the amount of rain we've had lately, we actually still have green growing grass! It's a miracle!

I talked to my good friend (that kept our chihuahua puppy while we were away to Galveston) today and confirmed that he should still be able to dog-sit for us. We'd talked about it before but I hadn't had a chance to confirm since he kept her last time.
She'll be there 9 nights! But she had so much fun playing with his doggies. Beats her staying at the vet's hands down... but I do have a reservation at the vet for her just in case something happens at the last minute and my friend can't keep her.

Soonergirl - how did I miss that?!?! I'm gonna read it right now. Edit: ok I read it and EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! I don't know what I would have done in that situation. Definitely better to do what she did than to pee on the floor of the monorail but still!!! EW EW EW!

Dugette - I think I'm actually not going to attempt pics that night from the beach at all because of your experience. I would be paranoid the whole time of dropping my camera and not enjoy the night. So I'll just leave it in my bag the whole time.

Oh my goodness, how did your trip come up so fast? I'm so excited for you (ok, jealous really, but I'll be nice).

Did you decide to get the Verizon app? I've been looking at it and would love to hear your experience with it. I really need to check out TGM and decide if I want to subscribe. Do you think it has really helped you plan your days?

It's all Brook's fault...

I'm just sayin'!

:lmao:

So glad you got your early Ohana ressie! :yay: I really enjoyed watching it all from the beach! I didn't think it would be as good as it was. I hope you all love it too.

It was from my December TR, you must have missed that update - so funny and so gross! It's at the very beginning of this post.

Just thinking about how AWKWARD that must have been!!!!!!!! :lmao: "Where do I look...where do I look?" and "Is my face showing how shocked I am?" would be my thoughts!

Is that my fault too?;)

I say keep it as is. By them being more happy, you will be more happy (most likely) and when Momma is happy...!

And you can ride the monorail into Epcot for a little fix. Or, that might make it worse...

Woo hoo for being able to change your 'Ohana ressie! :woohoo: Persistence pays off!

Definitely keep your MK plans. I just think you'll be really sorry if you don't see MK and the castle. :goodvibes

It wouldn't be a Gellybean PTR without a last minute ADR change or two!

Just added Kona Cafe for lunch on Tuesday. We'll be on Polynesian food overload. Breakfast at Captain Cooks, lunch at Kona and dinner at Ohana.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
