Three’s Company

I'm probably the one child of the 70s who thought Three's Company was lame. I was more of a Happy Days Universe (Happy Days/Laverne & Shirley/Mork & Mindy) guy.

LOL! I remember watching it with my neighbor in her family room while her parents were both on the couch reading. She elbowed me for laughing at jokes we weren’t supposed to get … she was like, “My parents won’t let me watch this if they think we understand what’s happening!”

I saw it a few years ago and thought it was insanely stupid. (Did watch it as a kid when it originally aired).
Same with some other shows like Love Boat.
Same! Actually, a large number of older sitcoms didn't age well.

And I tried the Love Boat again as well -- other than getting to see a lot of now older actors, just no.

Grew up watching it but was never really a fan. It was just too lame. Don’t think I could stomach it now.

I loved it as a kid. I rewatched one of my favourite episode on you tube recently ( Jack taking the tranquillizer to fly to the island for a party) and still found it hilarious. I loved John Ritter.

After my Panama Canal cruise I watched a lot of the old Love Boat. Really enjoyed it. Used to love Three's Company and Mork and Mindy.

This was my favorite show growing up. I would watch it every day after school. I can still catch a random episode here and there and enjoy it!

I watched it every day after school too!

Years ago, I lived in a side by side and my doorbell was broken. We put a sign on our door that said

The doorbell is broken, so

come on, knock on our door
we've been waiting for you

LOL we got quite a few comments on it

My favorite show growing up! I called it Jack and Janet. I also love John Ritter. I was heartbroken when he passed away.

My grandmother HATED that show. Just the premise of a guy living with two girls was enough to ensure that she never tried a single episode. But my grandpa knew that I loved it. So when I was at their house and it was on, Grandpa would send me to watch it on their bedroom TV while he kept Grandma distracted in the living room. It was a huge deal, because Grandpa was the strong silent type who rarely said much of anything. But he always had my back.

John Ritter was the nicest guy ever. I used to do a lot of extra work on TV shows and movies when I was a kid/preteen. Generally the stars either ignored the extras or were actively rude to them. But when I was on Problem Child 2, I was hanging out with a few other girls between takes. And all of a sudden John Ritter walked up to us and said, "Hi, I'm John. Thanks for being here!" He shook hands with all of us individually and chatted for a good 15 minutes. It really meant a lot.

No way - you're in Problem Child 2? Man, I really liked those movies as a kid! I mean, they're kinda dumb, but...you know.

So what service is carrying Three's Company? How about the other shows named?

Haha yeah! I was in the carnival scene where he turns up the ride speed and everyone starts puking.

Funny story about that: My dad and I were both in that scene. I was wearing my personal clothes and he was in assigned wardrobe. I was front and center, while he was hidden in a carnival booth way at the back of the shot.

It was late at night in early spring, and it was FREEZING cold. They told us the puke mix would be warmed. It was not. I was absolutely drenched in the stuff, head to toe. I had no change of clothes. So I borrowed my dad's shirt to change into after taking a shower at the motel across the street that the extras were using for dressing rooms. He had to drive home shirtless, about an hour away at 2am.

Anyway, they had told us we would get paid double the standard daily rate for doing the puke scene. When we got our checks, Dad and I BOTH got the double payment. Turns out that one tiny little drop of the mixture had gotten onto the brim of his hat--the hat that he was assigned by wardrobe! Didn't quite seem fair to me lol.

In the theatrical release, I had a fantastic closeup, front and center as I was drenched in the puke. My cousin was about 5 or 6 at the time and was in the theater with us. She stood up on her seat and started screaming, "That's my cousin! She's sitting right here! She's a STAR!!!" I tried to disappear into the floor.

Unfortunately they cut my big closeup from both home video/DVD release and streaming. Sigh.
