thread notification

every time I add to a thread I get email notification. how do I stop them. tried going in to Edit Option and ticked no email notification but it hasn't workd

What I'm doing it clicking "go advanced" every time and posting from there. You can scroll down to change the notifications. I've looked in preferences and stuff like that and I can't figure out how to change it to one thing permanently.

I am glad I am not the only one with this problem. I have become an addict and like to post, but my email box keeps filling up. I will try your suggestion too Fintastic.

click the "User CP" link on the toolbar at the top
scroll down on the page that comes up and click the "list subscriptions" under the "subscribed threads" section
you can then click the check boxes on the right for the ones you don't want to be subscribed to and click the "move to folder" menu under them and select "delete subscription"
Or if you get an email notification about something you don't want to any more, before you visit that topic, click the "User CP" link and the first page it pops up are your active subscribed threads.... there are "unsubscribe" links under all of them.

I could not figure out how to be notified as there were a couple of threads I wanted to follow. I had a hard time following the above instructions but ended up figuring it out. Go to User CP, then Messaging and Notifications, then Default Thread Subscription mode. Click on the drop down and you have the option to get no notifications. OR.... When you are posting to a thread, at the very bottom where it says preview post or submit reply, right below that it says additional options. It says thread subscription and then the drop down where you have a choice. Hope that helps.
