Not really sure where my thoughts are going right now so please bear with me... :scratchin

While I would prefer the bus over driving about 90% of the time, there are some instances where I would prefer to drive myself but find I may not have much of a choice.

We are staying at CSR on our upcoming trip and while I have a request for Casitas, I wouldn't mind virtually anywhere else EXCEPT I've heard that the last couple of bus stops can get dicey if you have an ecv/wheelchair. Has anyone else had experiences with this resort?

My current ecv is a heavy-duty model that is nominally transportable after being taken apart in about a half-dozen pieces. DW insists when we get to the resort we set it up ONCE and ride the buses everywhere. I am especially worried about collecting enough braincells :coffee: to get to a Chef Mickey's ADR at 7:20am and then proceeding straight to the MK.

Anyone have advice (other than waking up) for smoothly getting to CR from CSR? I haven't ruled out trying to find a cab with a lift if such a creature exists.

I think in order to get there on time I would arrange for a accessible taxi from Mears. If you go to the front desk, they can help you arrange for it. I would set this up for the night before. This would be the easiest way I think at that hour of the morning without taking the ECV apart, or having to rely on the buses not being too full to take you.

Thanks for that tip on who to call. Anyone have any idea of the fare from CSR to CR? Does Mears have a good reputation for being on-time for appointments called 20-48 hours in advance?

I'm here now staying at Okw with an ECV and find getting around with it no problem at all. We had an 8:00 am breakfast yesterday at AK and it was no problem getting ther on the bus. Buses start running very early for those breakfasts starting before the park opens. I'd take the bus to the MK and then walk over to CR. getting on and off the buses are no problem. Have fun and don't worry. Hakuna matata.

We often stay at CSR and I use an ECV.

In order to address ECVs and the buses, we usually just go to the first stop (eg left out the main lobby door). That way, no one is getting on before us! I think I've had to wait for a second bus twice in about 5 different stays due to 2 or three others who got to the stop ahead of me.

The new buses, with more capacity for ECVs, will further reduce any waiting times.

It is about seven miles by road from CSR to CR. Taxi fare will be about $17. And I don't know about on-time.

But also I would ask for the Transportation Coordinator at CSR at least a day in advance and very possibly that person can arrange something for you.
