Thoughts on WL v. AoA

I am going back and forth on this and wanted to get some of your thoughts:

We are going for 4 days the week of Thanksgiving and had a 30% pin code. The pin code will not work at AoA but works for WL -long story short, we are trying to be somewhat economical on this trip but that is not the main concern. Our only other stay was at CSR, and we absolutely loved it. We have never stayed in a value.

For $400 more, we could stay 3 nights at WL (woods view), compared to AoA in a standard. WL has always been very appealing to us - but to be honest, disney is more about the parks than the resorts. We could possibly use the savings for a character meal or MVMCP tickets, but again, I may not ever get a pin code with 30% on a deluxe, and I seriously doubt I would ever pay rack. We have 2 children, both younger than 10. What are your thougts and opinions - as you can see, I have gone back and forth on this. Thank you for any help.

I was at AoA for Opening Day and it is amazing, the best of the Values by far!,BUT it is a Value Resort!:)

Just my "impression" from the info in your post,I definitely think you would be happier at WL-it is gorgeous and you can't beat the boat ride to Magic Kingdom!:)

Again,JMHO,but should you decide on WL,definitely go over and check out AoA-CARS IS AMAZING-especially at night!:)

I'd definitely recommend the Wilderness Lodge. You're getting a deluxe resort for a small price upgrade over a value, and I think it's a much more beautiful resort. I also agree with the PP about the boat ride. It is a much nicer way to get to the MK than the bus.

I would also choose the WL because of the boats. Not only it is a short ride to MK, but you can also ride the boat over to the large gameroom at the Contemporary if your kids are interested and have easy access to the 3 monorail resorts, plus FW for dining.

WL is beautiful at Xmas! You might be able to do AoA another time? We loved the boat to MK and the atmosphere was great. We also liked having a balcony for our morning coffee. If you have a good discount and are going in Nov. I would not hesitate.
We also had woods-view and thought it was more private on the balcony than the courtyard-view which is exposed to the pool.

WL is an awesome resort and I think you would love it :). We love the WL for the close proximity to MK via boat and it's great being just a boat ride away from the CR where it's easy to hop on the monorail to visit the Poly and GF. The extra cost, IMO, is worth it for the WL ;).

I agree with everyone-WL for sure. My 6.5year old LOVED everything about the Lodge when we stayed in May. The geyser, the totem poles, the lobby overall and especially the boat ride to MK and Contemporary. We spent most of our time at MK and the boat was just so nice and easy and enjoyable! It was almost like another ride. I'd use the pin for WL-then when you want to return and you don't have a pin you can go to AoA! Now if only I could get a pin for WL:)

I forgot the electrical water pageant from the beach at WL was great too! And we watched Wishes from the train station at MK and made the first boat back after-no lines-no waiting! We also took the boat to Chef Mickey's and just rode the monorails for fun too! You can't go wrong with WL!
