Thoughts on using FP+ for POTC reopen

Touring Plans is telling me it's a waste to use FP+ for POTC on 9/26. Usually, I would agree although I haven't been since FP+ started. However, seeing as that's supposed to be the official re-opening day, I'm wondering if it will be a lot more crowded than usual and that might make FP+ worth it for a ride in the evening? Anyone care to help me out by sharing their opinions before I schedule FP+?

This reminds me how sad I am that we will be getting on an airplane to go home right as POTC opens on the 26th. I am really hoping we get lucky with an early opening the day before. Personally, I would get a FP+ if you don't have a better use for it as I know my kids would want to ride it.

I'd probably use one if you really want to ride it that day. Since they implemented FP+ the standby que has been miserably long and claustrophobic.

Do the rides only get swarmed on opening day for brand-new rides or big updates? I figured wait times would increase just with people wanting to squeeze in POTC right before their trip ends if they're leaving that weekend, locals who are missing the ride while it's closed and anyone wanting to see what is new about it even if it's just minor fixes.

Wishing you luck with an early opening! I'm having a hard time deciding if there's a "better" use for it. Trying to decide what to prioritize with a first-timer is difficult!

Thanks for the reminder that the queue doesn't have much going for it! If I don't get a FP+, I'll shoot for the evening EMH so the line at least moves faster!

We plan to get a FP+ for it just so we can see both queue lines, the Stand By once, the FP+ the other.

That date is included in my FP window that opened last night and I was unable to get POTC for that date. Had the same line of thinking as the OP when booking them.

I was thinking of getting a FP on that day for POTC but it would be a 4th FP.
