We booked our upcoming trip (Oct 2016) in May of 2015 when the rates were first released. At the time our budget only allowed us to book an outside deluxe on deck 2 which we are happy with, however, having had the cabins that sleep 5 verandah and other such what we feel are nicer cabins those are our preference. Our budget has changed, and I'd like to upgrade and surprise everyone, but the verandah for 5 is literally $3k more now o_O:faint:... Which in my mind is not worth it, I'd rather book another trip!

Anyway, my question is, if they were still available at the port what do you think it would cost to upgrade would it still be the 3k or a more reasonable amount like? We have an 11am PAT, so we might have a good chance?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

You are aware that the price difference you'll pay is what the difference was on the day you made the original booking, right? So if the verandah currently is 3K more now, it probably was less on your original booking date, and you'll be paying that lower price.

If you wait until you get to the port, and IF a room was still available, the upcharge would be less than what you'd pay now, but hard to say exactly what it would be.

Thanks Princess Shmoo. I checked still $2k more, which I don't think is worth it either. These were very expensive cruises and blackout dates for using onboard booking discount.
