Thoughts on These Reservations?

My fiance and I will be going to Disney in October and decided to get the DDP. We've been there before, but for this trip, it looks like we may only eat in new places.

Day 1: No reservations. Had Via Napoli but thinking about either paying OOP or skipping it for F&W or QS.
Day 2: California Grill (2 credits each) - neither of us have ever been but looks good
Day 3: Hoop Dee Do Review (2 credits each) - we've both been when we were young, but not in a long time
Day 4: Dine with an Imagineer - (OOP) - always wanted to do this
Day 5: Tusker House Breakfast (1 credit each)
Day 6: None

Are you buying the plan or getting it as part of a package promotion (e.g., "free dining")?

Your reservations look fine, I just question value of buying DDP to do that (1 signature, 1 dinner show, and a breakfast buffet) rather than just paying OOP.

We are buying it. Good point though, I hadn't even thought about if the value was necessarily worth it.

Great ADRs, but if it isn't too late, I'd recommend for you not to buy the meal plan. I don't think it'd be worth it for CG, and just hardly worth it for HDDR. Even by ordering the priciest entree's you'd still save more money out of pocket.

I'm going on a Disney honeymoon in October too, and we've decided not to get the meal plan because we're eating at primarily signature restaurants and a couple of character meals.

I would definitely pass in the meal plan. I don't think it's a good value based on your plans. A lot of people think it's always a deal but it isn't in every case. Have fun!

They all look good. The one I might question is Hoop Dee Do Review, I think its really geared for kiddos and the food was just okay, and for 2 credits you could try some 2 - 1 TS for more value, around Epcot( Tutto or Chefs of France) or MK ( Dinner at BOG), Or Some where at Disney Springs, lots of option there.

Personally, I totally disagree about the Hoop Dee Doo Review. I do not feel it is exclusively geared towards kiddos.
I have been with my young family years ago and we loved it. I had the joy of going with my adult son, who loved it so much he took his young family.
I have also gone with a party of all adults 30's - 60's and we all had a blast. We, an all adult party, are going again this October.
If you like "corny" jokes and singing and dancing you too will have a blast!!!
We thought the food was good "Down Home Cooking". It certainly is not gourmet, but it is very good.
Enjoy

Thanks for all the feedback. I've gone back and forth on the HDDR and whether or not to do that or do two dinners as I'm basically forfeiting Via Napoli and San Angel to do it. I remember it being fun when I last did it, but I was much younger! haha.

Also thanks for the feedback on the value...It may be too late for us to opt out of the dining plan (we already paid off our balance), but I will look into it.

Since you have paid it off, go with it and see if you like it. This way you will know for sure for the next trip if its something you will want to do again. Again I would stick with Via Napoli and San Angel. Its just the 2 of you, right now enjoy it, you can always check it out later on with a young family in tow... just saying not rushing anything....

Ha! You sound like my mom. Good point though, thanks! My fiance wants to keep the meal plan because he doesn't think we'll stop and eat without it! We have a bad habit of going on trips and being too busy to eat.

California Grill and Napoli are awesome...Eating with an imaginer seems way over priced. :dog2:pixiedust:
