Thoughts on The Wave?

We will be in WDW for a weekend, October 17-19 to celebrate my birthday. I originally had ADRs for October 17 and October 18 at The Plaza. Seemed easy, inexpensive and like a good choice since we'll be in the MK.

That being said---I just cancelled my birthday ADR at The Plaza and replaced it with The Wave since we'll still get to eat at The Plaza before MNSSHP.

Any thoughts? Good and bad welcome!

Ann

We went for the first time last December and all enjoyed it. I had the chicken pot pie and the seasonings were perfect. I don't remember what everyone else had but we all selected different dishes and all enjoyed them. I remember getting a desert sampler of 3 different kinds of creme brulee that was also terrific. I think you made a fine choice for your B-Day.

Glad to hear everyone liked it! I hope it lives up to expectations :thumbsup2

I am a Hard Core Foodie and I found everything there to be delicious! What was lacking was service. They had no record of our ADRs. We saw our waiter twice--when he took our order and when he brought the check. We had to flag down another server to ask for salt and pepper and were told to "just take the ones from the table next to you" which by the way, was occupied with other diners. We flagged down yet another server and asked to speak to the manager. No one ever showed. We flagged down yet another server to ask for dessert. No one ever came back to check on us etc. Yes, I WOULD eat there again, but if the service were so lacking again, I'm done with it.

We were here last year and really enjoyed it. My 12 yo DD's favorite meal. We were on the DDP and the kids were able to get special drinks (smoothies or margarits, don't remember sxactly but they were delicious) I had the best lamb I ve had at WDW hands down. Going back in December.
Hope you enjoy!

Yeesh. :headache: I hope that's not the case in October because if the food/service is good I'm going to seriously consider adding it for our trip in December since we'll be on the Deluxe DDP.

Thanks! I'm not a lamb eater, but DH likes it so I'm sure he's glad to have the recommendation. :thumbsup2

We had dinner there in March and Aug and it was incredible both times, amazing food, great servie and nice atmosphere. Pics in both my review links...I would not hesitate to celebrate my b-day there (Oct 19).

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

:woohoo:

Well if a fellow Libra loves it (I'm on the 17th) then it must be good. ;)

You do some great dining reviews (hadn't seen August yet) so I went out on a limb and booked it for December also. :)

The worst that can happen is if we go in October and don't like it---I'll just cancel for December and go somewhere else. No big deal, I'll be in The World during Christmas, so not much is going to get me down! :santa:

I loved The Wave! The food is very good, and it is only one TS meal. The mini desserts are a lot of fun to share. Also, my husband and I went there for our anniversary dinner. We received complementary glasses of champagne which I thought was a nice touch.

We ate at the Wave in early September and it was definitely our least favourite restaurant of the 9 on our trip. That's not to say that we didn't enjoy our meal but the service was slow and we all felt the desserts were a disappointment so we are unlikely to return next trip.

However, if you would like to try it, don't listen to us. I feel it is always best to go and form your own opinion.

We've eaten almost everywhere, including Signatures, and The Wave was tied with number 1 for our best meal this past trip in July. The service was exceptional, as was the food and atmosphere. We absolutely enjoyed it and can't wait to go back! It is a must-do for us now.

Happy eating and happy birthday, Tiger :)

We just returned from our six-day stay at WDW, and The Wave was our overall favorite dining experience. The food was wonderful -- he had the pork tenderloin, I had linguini with clams and shrimp -- and the service and atmosphere were super!

On the DDP, you can order a smoothie as your beverage (which we did) -- yummy! The three-sample-size desserts were great too.

Highly, highly recommended and a must-do on our next return trip!

I ate there 3 times in the past 19 days. Two dinners, one breakfast. Foodwise, it ranks in my top 5 on property. First dinner was at the bar. I had the Pork Loin. Fantastic!! Second dinner was in the dining room and I had the lamb shank! Again fantastic. Breakfasts are large and filling. I would make this one of my must do's.

I know that things don't always repeat themselves from year to year, but the "Classic Reuben Sandwich" I enjoyed at the Wave this past November was so outstanding (best Reuben I've ever had, and I've been around for a while), that I've planned for another lunch at the Wave this November, just to try the Reuben again. Who knows, perhaps history will repeat itself.

We were there Sept.18 & really enjoyed the meals. DH had the pasta with shrimp & I had the pork loin. Both were very tasty & we each got a different dessert. That way we were able to try them all. The one thing bad was the noise level is high. Our service was good, not outstanding.:ewok:

I read a great review in someone's dining review that has convinced me to add it on as an option, it sounds fantastic.
