Thoughts on staying offsite

Have you looked into Bonnet Creek? It is onsite...just not Disney owned. It is next door to the Caribbean Beach Resort. We have stayed several times and love it. It is no further than most of the other Disney Resort from the parks.

I just booked it again for April break. We are staying 10 nights in a three bedroom villa for a total price of $1249. That includes everything...no taxes on top of that. A two bedroom would be $849 for 10 nights. That breaks down to only $84 a night for 2 br, and $125 a night for 3 br. I would think this would be significantly less than AOA?

Even renting a car and paying for parking saves us a ton of money over staying at a Disney hotel for our family of 5.

Just another option to consider.;) Have a great trip!!!!

For my family (just 4 of us) we would rather stay at Disney then rent a hotel room offsite. The cost of a value resort ends up being about the same as an offsite hotel plus a rental car, staying at Disney gives us some perks, and we know we are going to get a nice clean room (which you can't be sure of elsewhere). The only downside to us of staying at Disney is that our food costs are much higher than they would be if we stayed offsite.

I've tried looking into renting but I'm so confused by it. And I also can't seem to find the 3 bedrooms? Any advice on this? I would love to look into it! :)

We are DVC members & as I noted we have stayed in the 3 bedroom Grand Villas on 2 occasions with 11 people & it worked out great. However because we are DVC we've never needed to rent points. I'm not sure why you can't find a 3 bedroom villa, maybe there were no 3 bedroom villas available for your dates.

You should check the DVC Mousellaneous thread as there are a bunch of folks who rent points all the time. I'm sure you could get all kinds of of help & advice on that thread. ::yes::.
Good Luck

I like offsite even though Disney does have a few resorts that I love. I enjoy the extra space, the often better amenities, the ability to grab a reasonably priced pizza or something similar sometimes and the extra money is its own special magic. We always have a car though and I feel like that is vital. For such a large group, you might be better off with two. A van might fit all of you but it can be hard to coordinate that many people.
