Thoughts on Hotel Lulu.

I am thinking of booking kind of a last minute trip to Disneyland from 9/18 to 9/24. Park reservations are available for those dates so I am good there. The last time I went to Disneyland I stayed at the Tropicana but the Hotel Lulu is about $50 a night cheaper. I am traveling solo, I won't have a car so I want to be within walking distance but also want a half decent hotel.

We stayed at Desert Inn last time we were there and are staying again this November. The room was clean and really close to DL ( I think only two motels away from the crosswalk to DL ) and the cheapest! We were very happy, good luck!

It’s the old Red Lion. I don’t have any info on how it is now that it has changed ownership. I wouldn’t consider it walking distance (per my preference) but it is right next to the Toy Story parking lot. You can take the parking bus to the park. And the lot has it’s own security checkpoint so you get screened there then have a separate walkway into the esplanade once you get to the park.

We recently stayed at Lulu and the door would not latch properly unless my husband pushed all his weight on it. I could not get it to close at all. If I was alone, I would have had to change rooms. If Tropicana is only $50 more a night, I would opt for staying there. Tropicana was also much cleaner than the room at Lulu. I’m willing to give lulu another chance….maybe next year. Hopefully they will have worked out all their issues by then.

We stayed at hotel Lulu a week ago. It was fine, the ac was loud. There was no fan in the bathroom so the whole room just felt a little humid for most of our stay. And the door knob was loose on the inside of the bathroom door. And after our 2nd day I decided that it wasn't actually within walking distance for me. 🤣

Thank you all for your input. I may change over to the Tropicana. A few years ago we stayed at the Howard Johnsons and that really felt like a long walk after being in the parks all day. I wouldn't want to stay that far away again

I forgot our AC was super loud too! So loud that we turned it off and only left the fan running.

Tropicana is super close! We really liked it there. Have a great trip!

Man found fatally shot in parking lot of hotel near Disneyland

OC Register
An Anaheim man was found fatally shot in the parking lot of a hotel near Disneyland, officials said Monday, Aug. 2.
Callers notified police after spotting a possibly wounded man at about 9 a.m. on the 1800 block of Harbor Boulevard, outside of Hotel Lulu, Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer said. He appeared to be dead when authorities arrived.
The man was described as an Anaheim resident in his 70s. Investigators were working to determine whether his injuries were self-inflicted, accidental or possibly caused by another person, Carringer said.
A gun was located nearby, Carringer said, and police were looking into what role it may have played in the man’s death.
